Fennville House Rental Photos and Description
7 bedrooms, 3.5 baths includes beach towels, beach chairs and sand toys.
NEW TO MARKET for Summer 2014!!! Looking for a unique place to get together with a large family group for an incredible week? You have found it! With an expansive front lawn, woods in the back and private stairs to the beach, The Blue and Yellow Houses offer the perfect gathering spot. These two cottages are situated on over an acre of land with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and jaw dropping sunsets. The area is somewhat remote so peace and tranquility are a given. However, since the cottages are located halfway between South Haven and Saugatuck, restaurants and activities are within 15 minutes north or south. The picture perfect houses sit only 11 feet apart offering the feeling of togetherness yet the separation of two homes. Between them they boast 7 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and two of everything else!
The Yellow House was built in 2002 but gives the feel of a vintage cottage. The home is centered around the large kitchen with 4' x 8' island - perfect for serving evening buffets for the group. There is a king bedroom and a queen bedroom on the main floor along with a full bath. The second level is home to two more bedrooms, both with 2 twin beds, and a second compartmentalized bathroom (a toilet room, a shower room and a room with 2 pedestal sinks) for multiple users at the same time. There is an open front porch and side porch plus a fully enclosed hot water outdoor shower.
The blue house was completely renovated in 2013, keeping much of the original charm of the 1930's cottage. The main floor has a living room, a family room as well as a dining area and kitchen. It also has two queen bedrooms, a full bath and a half bath. The upstairs is a bunk room with 4 twin beds and plenty of room to hang out. The blue house has an enclosed front porch as well as a fully enclosed hot water outdoor shower.
These houses have been set up to accommodate the needs and demands of multiple families. Each house has a very well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave and place settings for 16 as well as Weber gas grills. Also provided per house are 2 beach bags, 8 beach towels, 6 beach chairs, one soft sided cooler and beach shovels & toys for smaller children.
These cottages offer a vacation experience from years past. Spend your days building sand castles, making sand angels, looking for beach glass, playing soccer on the beach, jumping the waves or simply soaking in the sun. Then, finish the days with amazing sunsets, fires on the beach or hunker down with a movie and popcorn. Each house offers a good selection of board games, children's books and movies for all ages as well as a basket of blankets to snuggle up.

For the past 10 years The Yellow House has been our private summer retreat. In 2012 we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to purchase our neighbor, The Blue House, a true 1930's cottage. We stripped everything down to the studs and put it back together with much of the original charm giving us the option of housing even more family and friends. With our children getting bigger, the amount of time we can spend here is diminishing, but we hated the thought of them sitting empty. We have enjoyed more great times with friends and family here than we can count. It is truly a special place to us and we are excited for others to have the opportunity to experience it. Every time we turn down the gravel road, you can feel the stress fade away. My favorite is by far watching the sunset every night!
Denise purchased this house in 2002
Why Denise chose Fennville
We actually bought the property on a whim and ended up falling in love with the area it is located. We are secluded but in 15 minutes can be in Saugatuck or South Haven. Since my husband hates crowds, this is the best of both worlds.
What makes this house unique
The thing I loved about the property the most when we purchased it (back then it was an 800 sq. ft. cottage, built about the same time as The Blue House) was the front lawn. The fact our small children could play while we sat on the porch and we didn't have to worry about them falling over the bluff gave me great comfort. Not to mention, looking out at the water below the tree canopies reminded me of where I grew up.
