A sunny and spacious designer apartment in the heart of the multicultural Raval district, benefiting from sun all day long. Recently renovated to the highest standards, this flat is an oasis of calm in the middle of Barcelona’s liveliest district. As the flat does not face onto the street, it is very quiet and peaceful all day. The apartment is right next to the Rambla de Raval, the heart of El Raval – Barcelona’s vibrant multi-cultural district, packed with bars, shops, and restaurants of all descriptions and budgets. From the tapas bars and kebab-shops to Cal Isidre, frequented by the King of Spain, this district has something for everyone!
Overall we enjoyed our 4-night stay at this property located just off Rambla del Raval. The apartment is very spacious, there's an elevator to help w/ bags & AC in most areas. Also, Wifi worked well. We would stay here again! Pros: The property was very well upgraded & well lit. Location was good, less than a mile walk to "Las Ramblas". It's a nice stroll though as you pass many shops & restaurants along the way. There are a few grocery stores nearby that open until late. It was definitely very comfortable & spacious for our group of 5! We enjoyed the kitchen amenities as well as the washing machine. Also, the owner (Katya) is nice & fairly easy to communicate with (answers emails within 24-48 hours). Cons: The manager (Zine) who checked us in & out was one of the rudest, most unfriendly people we encountered in a while. In the interest of full disclosure I will begin by saying our flight was delayed coming in due to bad weather & we arrived past our planned check-in time. However, I was in communication w/ Zine updating him on our status as this circumstance was beyond our control. Still, when you are dealing with customers you should expect this and try to put your best face forward to make them feel comfortable/welcomed. I apologized repeatedly for the delay, even though it really wasn't our fault, but still he made us feel bad saying he was in a rush because he had to wake up early for work the next day. He was short with us, borderline rude the entire time and to top it off he had an offensive body odor. When he arrived for check-out same thing -attitude & odor! He didn't say good morning, his only comment to us was: "Are you ready to leave?" or something along those lines. Also, there is no AC is the 2nd bedroom, only a little fan but it was still hot, so you may want to ask for a bigger fan when you stay here. Another minor thing to note, the apartment seemed like it hadn't been cleaned prior to our stay. The floor was dirty/dusty in the bedroom, living area & master bathroom tiles - something the cleaning fee should've covered. This might be something the owner is not aware of, so confirm w/ her before you arrive.
Overall the cons should not deter you from staying at this property just be aware beforehand what to expect. We would probably stay here again if we travel to Barce, but I would definitely ask Katya if she could send a different person to handle the check-in & check-out.
This was a great choice for our group of 6 as it had a lot of room to spread out with 3 separate sleeping areas. It has good views from most of the inside area and a small patio to step out on. The owner has put some real effort into modernizing this place so that everything seemed brand new. In contrast, the neighborhood has an old traditional feel to it so that you can get an authentic taste of old Barcelona but still be in a unit with all the modern amenities that you would want. Good central location that is surprisingly quiet most of the time, but yet you feel like you are part of a real neighborhood. If you only had 2 or 3 people this unit would be too large and expensive, but for 4 or more it would be a good value.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments on my apartment, glad to hear you enjoyed the apartment and the neighbourhood. It is an oasis of calm right in the center of the old town - another advantage of that area is that there is no traffic noise!
We stayed here with our two young children. The apartment is surprisingly big and outfitted with nice modern furniture and new appliances. For being in a busy area it very quiet and the ceiling to floor back windows are open to a large space(ie you are not staring into someone else's window!) Everything was extremely clean and my kids loved the giant bathtub! The location is in El Raval, a developing area in Cuitat Villa, a short block off Rambla de Raval which has multiple restaurants. We used taxis and there was a taxi stand on Rambla de Raval so we never waited long. Would stay here again!
