Luxurious Cap Cana Villa. Golf course setting and Ocean views.

Each winter, 7 of my buddies and I take a week long golf trip to get away from the cold. We have been doing this for over 15 years now and truly have it down to a science. The past 7 years we have been traveling to Casa de Campo for the guaranteed good weather and for the championship golf there. This year we decided to give Cap Cana and Punta Espada a shot.

Well, I can say without hesitation that all 8 of us are in agreement that this was our best trip ever. The villa is absolutely exquisite, featuring a blend of modern caribbean architecture with warm and classic tropical appointments. It is obvious that no expense was spared in the construction of this beautiful home. The owners of this villa clearly thought through the details, right down to the new and surprisingly large LCD televisions in each bedroom. The state-of-the-art surround sound system directs symphonic quality sound throughout the villa. The master suites are huge and beautifully decorated. The guest bedrooms are also quite large with ample walk-in closets and large bathrooms. Natural stone and wood materials convey a feeling of luxury and warmth throughout the home. We spent most of our time outdoors in the huge gazebo. Two large dining tables plus an entire outdoor living room made it so inviting that we rarely wanted to leave. The beautifully maintained pool and jacuzzi were perfect for a quick cool-down or to soothe our aching golf muscles.

Although we were made aware that the house butler, Leo, would prepare meals for us if we so desired, we had initially planned to dine out several nights. Well, let me tell you, after experiencing Leo's cooking the first night, we quickly changed those plans and ended up eating every meal at the villa. The food was outstanding and the house staff extraordinarily accommodating. The guys could not stop raving about it.

The guys in my group are good golfers and have played everywhere. We unanimously agreed that Punta Espada is one of the best courses we have ever played. Think of it as Pebble Beach, only with perfect weather and without some of Pebble's mediocre inland holes. Compared to Teeth of the Dog, the ocean holes at Punta Espada are every bit as good, if not better, and the off-ocean holes much better than Teeth's!

The Caleton beach is also the nicest I've ever experienced!

I loved this destination and villa so much that I am already planning a large family trip for this coming summer. My Rating...5 STAR PLUS!
