In many ways Sonoma and Alexander valley offer the relaxed traveler a lot of opportunities, especially for the ones that look for family-owned/boutique wineries or for people that long for 'just a weekend away' with family and friends from the city.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been visiting Napa Valley for almost 15 years. Our favorite area to stay is Calistoga area. The Villa is in the perfect location; close to Calistoga (& Santa Rosa) but far enough away that we felt we were far out in the country. The wildlife is beautiful! The house is a good size with a large kitchen, living room and deck. The hot tub is wonderful (very clean and inviting!). We grilled our dinners and there is plenty of cookware to create any dish you wish. Meike is wonderful and accessible if you need her. We had a perfect weekend and will be renting this place again!

Gorgeous wilderness surroundings and nice house

  • 5 of 5

Location was super close to Calistoga. 3 min. From Petrified Forest and 12 minutes into town of Calistoga. Facilites were nice and homey. Hot tub was a nice bonus for the evenings.

Villa Review

  • 4 of 5

This property is in a beautiful setting and was very quiet. Frogs were chirping in the pond below the property, and lots of birds in the area. The beds were extremely comfortable! If the weather were warmer, we would have spent more time out on the deck using the hot tub. The rooms were roomy; the sofas in the living room were comfortable; wifi was easy to set up; the DVD player was easy to use. The kitchen was perfect as we did cook 3 meals while we stayed there, but 2 of the burners on the stove didn't light. We were able to get one to finally light but we had to keep the gas on for too long to be safe. The showerhead in the bathroom was spurting water all over the room, and then came off in my hand when I tried to fix it. My son was able to fix it better but it's not on there very well. Would have appreciated shower gel or bar soap in the shower instead of hand gel. Also would have been nice to have at least 1 night's worth of wood for the woodstove as the property is a long ways from town. Overall, though, we had a wonderful time, and the one time I called Michelle, the housekeeper, she was very helpful.

Spacious and Inviting

  • 5 of 5

A long overdue review for this amazing Villa in the Calistoga country. My mother, sister and I decided to do a last-minute girl's trip in mid-August 2014. I have two large dogs and Meike was very accommodating of the last-minute booking and my dogs, which is always a relief on my part to not have to find pet-sitters! The Villa was easy to find, but I would definitely recommend driving in during daylight. It might be difficult to find in the dark when arriving on your first night's stay.

Right when we pulled up to the Villa, I knew it was going to be an amazing weekend. The house was very spacious - with a very large, wonderful kitchen and living room. To be honest, we enjoyed the outdoors and kitchen so much, we hardly even spent time in the cozy living room! Lots of sunlight and an immediate sense of comfort when staying here.

The back deck was great to relax on - my sister and I even took a nap outside since the weather was so beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub one of the nights - very easy to use.

We felt very safe in the area, even when it was pitch dark outside - as the Villa is slightly secluded. Would highly recommend staying here for a worry-free getaway.

A true get-away

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored staying at the 'Villa' in Calistoga. The property is tucked away, although just minutes from downtown Calistoga. The little farm, the pond, the gardens, and especially the views make you feel a million miles from the stresses of everyday life. Our little ones loved running around the yard, picking figs off the tree, and watching the deer that came at dusk to drink from the pond. This is a fairy-tale property that we cannot wait to visit again.

Perfect for our needs

  • 4 of 5

The house is clean, up-to-date and very well supplied. The hot tub and deck are large and the view is private and lovely. The kitchen and living room are big and easily hosts an extra couple to visit for dinner. The property manager is very nice and accommodating. The location is in the hills equidistant to both the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, so we had the best of both!
