This complex was one of the last beach front apartments built in Puerto Rico. It is perfectly maintained and we take pride in it and we want our guests to feel at home, relaxed and happy.
Loiza is away from the hustle and bustle of the city but is close enough to drive to town if you want to enjoy the night life of Condado and Old San Juan.
Great owners to deal with. Needs better housekeeper, but owner personally came to clean so that meant alot. Easy to check in, out. Quiet with great view of beach 3 minute walk away. We would come again.
My family and I spent the whole week of Jan 12th at the apartment. Simply excellet.....
I´ll start the review by saying that this was our first visit to Puerto Rico.
At our arrival at the airport, Madelin and Kevin where waiting for us at the car rental counter (sorry for the delay of the flight....).
We followed them to the apartment taking RT 187 by the sea, a 30 minute drive.
The Villa is a little hidden from the main road, we took a pharmacy at a reference point to know at what street we had to turn to the complex (don´t expect to find the names of the streets), then it was very easy to find the way.
It is a very nice, closed community, quiet, safe, even the guards were nice. The surrounding neighborhood looks a bit unsafe, specially at night, but I cannot say that we saw or experienced dangerous situations. Maybe it only looks that way, just be careful....
The beach was not the strongest point of the complex, at least at that time of the year, but since we had already planned to know as much as possible of the island, this was not a problem either. Anyway, we could take nice morning walks by the sea at that beach. I cannot talk about the pool: who could think about a pool with that fantastic sea?.
Another point: a car is a must.
And now we get to the apartment. It is exactly what pictures show: spacious, clean, comfortable, everything was working (yes, the dryer was a little noisy, but this was not a problem for us)
Internet and TV services were available most of the time (we experienced a couple of interruptions). Comfortable beds, clean linens and towels, air conditioning, hot water (not really necessary....). We could do all the laundry we needed. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals and set a nice table. Beach chairs and towels come with the apartment.
Madelin and Kevin left us the fridge with plenty of things to start our first day, then we took the car and went to the closests Walmart and Sam´s, about 15 minutes drive from the apartment.
To finish: Thank you Madelin and Kevin, we spent one of our most beautiful vacacional experiences, and renting your apartment was part of that experience, we made the right choice.
To those planning to spent some days on the island: consider this property, you will be hardly dissapointed.
We plan to return to Puerto Rico for a longer stay, if it is available we would like to be there again
Fully equiped, cozy and confortable!
It's trully your "home away"!
The owners make all within their reach to make you feel at home! They even provide some treats and suppplies.
The condominium is nice and safe, but a car (and a GPS) is required since there are no restaurants, markets or shopping malls in the near surroudings.
A car is required anyway, in my opinion, if you like to explore the island and it's many attractions and to know different beaches, as I do...
I would reccommend a bit of caution since PR is a country of social contrasts, (but with a car you'll be fine).
Although the location is not the best, in in general it's a great cost-benefit!
We loved this apartment. It was very clean and quiet. The neighborhood is gated so we felt very safe. It is a bit of a drive to San Juan, but its worth it. We had the pool area to ourselves which was great, they had beach towels/chairs/umberella/surf board and beach toys ...which was super convinient. The home owner was really nice.. he met up with us at the car rental place and we followed him to the apartment (very welcoming)...I accidently broke the key and it was not a problem at all ..we were given a new key later that day.
I'd definatly stay here again!
Our accomodations were exactly as described. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Kevin met us at the car rental and was even gracious enough to take us on the scenic route to get to the apartment even though it was very slow going on a Sunday afternoon. He even treated us to a Puerto Rican snack from a roadside vendor.
The complex was close to empty while we were there (not sure why!) and the pool areas are a little run down and sparse. The hot tub was lukewarm one evening and downright cold the next evening. Clubhouse is completely empty and closed. Great location if you want easy access to San Juan, El Yunque and the islands!
I really would rate this at 3.5 if I could. The party was 3 adults and 2 kids and we paid a reasonable price which I think is good value for the place. The condo is pretty, spacious, good kitchen and bedrooms. Bathroom and living rooms are ok. There some minor problems: bunk bed was a big plus for us when renting, but the bottom section moves when my 4 yeard on top turns in it, so he only slept there the first night. Washing maching is in the unit, works fine, but can be very loud. One of the A/C leaks, beach tent is broken, so nothing big but it's there.
The property itself is in a gated community in Louiza, which means its in the middle of everything but close to nothing. You are a bit in your own world, you feel safe and the condition is fine, but there neighborhood outside feels a bit decrepit and there is really nothing in terms of western grocery or restaurants nearby. That's the main thing you miss with being there, i.e. 20 min drive to the neariest normal grocery store and one restaurant option in a hotel not too far away. The beach is nice, it's close but pretty small, so if the community is filled up (it was a ghost town when we were there) it could get busy. Also, and I didn't realize how annoying this would be, no internet in the condo and a poor wifi connection near a pool.
Lastly, the owners are very friendly. They met us at the airport and helped us find it (it is a bit tricky to do that) and then answered any questions we had very promptly. Overall, good value, but has its downsides as well.
Where do I start, the transaction between Mrs. **** and I to try and secure her place for my arrival time was smooth and straight to the point. My family and I stayed at this location for 5days/4nights. Mrs. **** was very pleasant and a wonderful woman when we met her. I was totally impress when she emailed me days prior trying to confirm flights so she can take us to the villa directly...............20 points for that. The Villa is little bit far from San Juan however with a car it was about 30 min away. When we pull up in this complex we were excited because it was gated and we knew we were going to be secure. The pictures that are viewed of this complex is not a lie. My family and I walked in with mouths wide open, it is a beautiful complex and the inside of the apartment is beyond comfortable and relaxing. We didn't had to worry about any roaches, spiders or anything out of the way. The linens were clean and the bathroom was on point as well (I am a person who has a pet peeve with a dirty kitchen and a disgusting bathroom). I was sold, we was sold and the price was not bad at all (I will not disclose what we paid). Mrs. ***** made us feel welcome, enjoyed that fact that some stuff was left for us to use if we didn't had. We also shopped and left some stuff as well. I was happy I was able to wash and dry to prevent traveling with dirty clothes. O and not forgetting it is children proof safe. I have a 1 yr old boy and he's very active, was super happy I didn't have to worry about him getting into trouble or breaking anything. They say when you rent a place you put in the cheapest things but in this case everything had look expensive and well kept.
My family and I came from the islands so after dealing with the business we came to do we proceed to shop which is inexpensive compare to where we live and we also visited El Yunque rainforest which was great. My other half, my mom, and sister made it through that hike to the waterfall and my son and I turned bk. Good Luck to whoever wants to go it was beautiful however I am not into hiking not one bit.
Now would you ask if I would recommend?
Yes I would recommend, you would be sold with the great hospitality from the owners and also the comfort, style, location of the place. I will Definitely return and stay here.
Loiza is located on the northeast part of the main island, adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. It is located about 25 minutes from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport, about 35 minutes from Old San Juan and 20 minutes from the El Yunque Tropical Forest. It is blessed with warm tropical waters, copious wild life and great golf resorts nearby. It is great for the avid explorer as well as for the traveler in need of a restful vacation.
Other Activities: While you are staying in Puerto Rico, you should not miss El Yunque Rain Forest, night kayaking at the bioluminescent bay and snorkeling on nearby cays.
Golf: For the golfer, there are several championship courses nearby, just 2 to 10 minutes away from some of the World´s top golf courses. St Regis Resort and Bahia Beach Golf Course, and Berwind Country Club are just a 2 minutes drive away. The Trump Gulf Club (Puerto Rico Open), the Río Mar Beach Wyndham Resort and the Gran Meliá Resort are just 10 minutes away.
