Cozy private lake front chalet updated with gas fireplace, tile floors, skylight, ceiling fan, full kitchen and bathroom and many decorative and luxurious touches.

Gothic arches enclose the loft style bedroom with queen bed. The high window provides a fabulous view across the lake. The sliding glass doors off the open plan main floor lead to a large deck with propane barbeque and comfy patio furniture where you can relax with a drink and enjoy the view of the lake. For additional guests, futon in living room converts to bed that sleeps 2.

You can stroll a few steps down the lawn to the shared sandy bay with your water toys,camera or sketch book or continue to the dock with your bass fishing gear.

Swim, kayak, or enjoy a book in this peaceful setting. In the evening enjoy dinner on the deck, or even on the dock and take in the sunset over the hills. Bring your boat and tie up or fish for bass and trout right off the dock. Whether you are looking for a high energy family vacation at the lake or a relaxing romantic getaway this is the ultimate destination.

In the off season, the cabin is available for fall or winter getaways by request. The conditions are quite different after November so please take this into consideration if you wish to book during this time. We will answer your questions and make sure you are fully prepared for cosy winter relaxation and possible rainy/snowy walks.

What makes this cabin unique

Walking distance or short drive or bike ride to the Kinsole Trestle and funky Shawnigan village, host to artisan coffee and chocolate shop with bakery and lunch counter, DVD rental and other fun shops and attractions.

Just a short walk to the Shawnigan Lake School which would be very handy for visitors and guests at the school.

A visit to the two small nearby grocery stores is a chance for locals and visitors to pick up essentials such as milk, snacks, penny candy, newspaper, ice cream, souvenirs. etc.

Close by, The Black Swan pub has a beer and wine store.

Lots of farm markets, local artisans and wine tours in and around the Cowichan Valley. Chemainus Dinner Theatre is a short drive. Cabin is walking distance to the beautiful Shawnigan School and Shawnigan Village. Drive to Mill Bay and take a ferry ride to Butchart Gardens and Victoria.

Wonderful retreat for couples!

My husband and I stayed at this place for our mini-moon following our Sept. wedding in Seattle, and it was the perfect retreat for a relaxing week after a hectic (but fabulous) several weeks preceding it! The owners, Len and Shelley, were very accommodating and responsive throughout the booking process as well as during our stay, and they made us feel right at home. The home is perfectly cozy for two people and very quiet/private. We'd wake up every morning to have coffee on the deck or boat dock, which was a beautiful and peaceful way to start the day.

The home is close to the small town of Shawnigan Lake (walkable) and within short driving distance of more bustling areas like Duncan and Cowichan Bay. It's also only 40 minutes from Victoria, which makes for a great day trip while you're in the area.

Thanks to Shelley and Len for their hospitality- we'll be back!!
