My family has been coming to Chatham since the 1960’s. I spent all of my summers as a child in Chatham, and had many idyllic days learning to sail, play golf and tennis, water ski, bike, swim and fish. It is a spectacularly beautiful place during the summer. We have vacationed all over the world but find this spot is our favorite, so we keep coming back. Try Chatham this summer, and we think you and your family will want to return again and again.
Why Chris chose Chatham
Chatham is a throw back to an earlier, simpler time. It is a place where families gather for the free band concerts on Friday evenings at the outdoor gazebo in the middle of the village, then stroll down Main Street window shopping and eating homemade ice cream. The beaches are outstanding and the shopping is the best on the Cape. We also have excellent restaurants close to the house. Both public and private tennis courts and golf courses are accessible and close by. And then there is the house. We are elevated 30’ over the water and have spectacular views of Chatham Harbor, Tern Island, North Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Yet we are within walking distance of all that the town has to offer. Our property is over 2 acres of private grounds in a town where the average house has less than ¼ acre. We have over 200’ of beachfront. There is a large area that is soft white sand, perfect for the kids’ sand castles, shell collecting or clamming. Chatham is easily accessible from Boston, Providence and New York by plane (into Hyannis) or car. For private pilots Chatham has an airport (CQX) with a 3,000 runway. Chatham has all the charm of Nantucket without the hassles of ferry schedules and fog delayed/cancelled flights.
Guestbook comments from the owner
. . . . Our family had a glorious week at your house. It was plenty big enough for all 12 of our family with nice roomy bedrooms We could spread out on the patio for cocktails, play games at the glass table on the sun porch and hold the family olympics on the bowling green. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed for "cooking in", including the big lobster pots. Thank you so much for letting us use your beach towels. We really needed them since we had perfect beaching weather and had neglected bringing ours from home. The big dining room table was able to accommodate 15 of us when our nephew and family came for dinner one night.
All in all we had a wonderful time and appreciated being able to use your beautiful house for our 50th anniversary celebration.
