RUSTIC LUXURY, UNOBSTRUCTED VIEWS OF THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, ISOLATED BUT CLOSE

Fraser Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 14), Gourmet Kitchen, Stone fireplace

Beautiful log cabin nestled in the woods with dramatic views of Continental Divide (four-wheel drive a must in the winter). Private deck with large hot tub and gas grill. You'll marvel at the warmth your family/group feels around the river stone fireplace. Fourteen people can crowd around the handcrafted wood dining room table playing games while the cooks listen in from the gourmet kitchen. Every inch of this cabin was crafted by top rated finish carpenters. You'll marvel at the unique touches throughout. Each bathroom has its own Kohler fixtures (like a two-person jetted tub and old fashioned claw foot one) creating a distinct environment. The most frequent comment we hear from guests, 'Your pictures don't do it justice.' All manner of mountain sports are nearby. We're walking distance from the Arapaho National Forest and just a short drive to Winter Park Ski Area. A perfect setting for romance (we've had many small weddings) or family reunions and group get-togethers.

We built our beautiful log cabin in 1995. We have enjoyed the wonderful wooded national forest surrounding our home and the amazing ski resort in Winter Park

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1995

We build our log cabin in 1995. It is nestled near the Arapaho National Forest and close to the Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski Area. We love to ski and all the winter and summer sports that are abundant in our area.

The summer is also a great time to be in the mountains of Colorado. In addition to the great hiking and mountain biking we are close to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We are also around 70 miles from downtown Denver which offers many city delights.

perfect blend modern and rustic

This place has all the amenities - radiant floor heating, deep soaker tub(s) in bathrooms, chef's kitchen, flatscreen TV, hot tub with a view - while preserving the character of an old-fashioned log cabin. Don't be shy if you like to cook, either. The kitchen is stocked with crock pots, knives, spices, cutlery, and anything you need to prepare a fine meal at the monster-sized dining table.

The bunk beds are an especially nice feature with privacy curtains and reading lights. They are not an afterthought...they are a reason to come that kids and adults can both enjoy.

The neighbors are friendly too if you need help orienting yourself with the area. Will be back.

Can't wait to go back!

Can't wait to go back!

This house was the perfect location for our winter getaway with our extended family. There was plenty of room for everyone (there was 10 of us), and the house is simply gorgeous. Owners were very helpful and responsive. Be aware that because it's a cabin the sound does travel a bit throughout the house -- but we simply turned on the bathroom fans to help our little one's nap while others were awake in the house and it worked just fine! Our kids loved the jacuzzi tub in the main bath, and the mud room at the entry was fantastic as a drop off spot for all of our ski gear. We can't wait to return some day. Thank you so much for offering this home to others to enjoy!

The views were wonderful, hot tub exceptional, fantastic and very well equipped kitchen, great layout and real fireplace, bunk room was a huge hit with the children. The log cabin feel was perfect for our mountain getaway and we can't stop talking about what a joy it was to stay at this home. Thank you!!!

I am a hero...

  • 5 of 5
...to my family for finding Dancing Aspen Cabin for our family reunion.

If God had allowed me to create a place for our family reunion it would not have been as perfect as Dancing Aspen Cabin. The pictures cannot convey the wonderful ambience you experience when you walk in the door. I am so grateful that after spending countless hours looking for "just the right place" I found it. Not only that, dealing with Steve in the planning process was a breath of fresh air.

The cabin was spotless and beautiful The location was secluded yet accessible to all the things we wanted to do.

This was the first time I have ever used VRBO and it was win win all the way.

Loved this cabin!

  • 5 of 5
Our family (five adults, five kids) recently stayed in the Dancing Aspen cabin for a mini family reunion and we really had a wonderful time. The pictures of the cabin are accurate but really don't show how spacious it actually is inside. The cabin was very clean and was well-stocked with everything we needed (towels, dishes, appliances, etc). The hot tub was hot and ready to be used when we checked in, and we had no trouble using any of the cabin's amenities. We really appreciated all of the little touches that made the cabin family friendly, including a trunk full of board games, children's books on the shelves, DVDs to rent, and easy wi-fi access. We had five kids with us ranging in age from 2 to 12, and they were all really sad to leave at the end of our trip. The kids LOVED the unique pullman car beds and the adults really enjoyed the large tubs. I was also pleasantly surprised that the cabin had so many bathrooms (4), which was crucial for our large group. The setting for this cabin is really beautiful (only 10-15 minutes outside of town) and we had a lovely time relaxing together as a family. We have already talked about coming back to Dancing Aspen as an annual family tradition. Thanks for a really great trip!

Didn't Dance But Had A Great Time Anyway

Didn't Dance But Had A Great Time Anyway

Dancing Aspen Cabin is a great place to stay. I happen to know the owner and spent ten days there--in July, so really can’t comment on snow conditions.

My program was 1) do a bit of writing and 2) do a lot of mountain biking. This is the perfect spot for both, a peaceful retreat with no distractions except the awesome outdoors. Three of us spent our time writing in the mornings and riding in the afternoons.

The log cabin itself has a lovely rough-hewn, handcrafted look. One simple morning pleasure is just having a cup of coffee and looking at the woodwork. The decoration is what I’d call Early American style--pillows, quilts, & comforters. Downstairs is mostly open space with a large dining room next to a smaller lounging area, separated from the kitchen by a counter. There’s wifi, a BBQ, deck with hot tub. We never used the stone fireplace--more fine construction--though we could have. Even in July Colorado nights can be chilly.

This is not some remote location in the wilderness. Down the road are a couple of pleasant little towns, Fraser and Winter Park. Both are bike friendly, with rentals, repair shops, paths, and a culture respectful of two-wheeling.

Resort areas bring tourists and seasonal workers so there’s more commercial development than is typical of smallish towns. Plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, even entertainment. Winter Park offered a jazz festival and a couple of open-air concerts while we were there.

If you’re a flatlander like me, remember that Colorado is not Kansas. It’s mountain country and the elevation here is 8500’ plus. After getting acclimated we worked up to 20+ miles a day. Serious riders won’t find that impressive but it’s way better than my average back home. (That hot tub helps ease the aches.)

Most of the trails we rode had relatively forgiving grades. On our last day we took the Winter Park Resort ski lift up the mountain then biked back down. Down means down and the descent was challenging. If you’re worried about injuries, body armor is available for rent. At the very least wear long pants, NOT shorts like I did.

After ten days I returned from the mountains a bit scraped up yet energized and feeling a sense of accomplishment. Definitely worth another visit.

Winter Park/Fraser Valley is an outdoor paradise. It is skied by more people from Colorado than any other slopes in the State. There is wilderness, the Rocky Mountain National Park, tons of summer activities, a recreation center and all the summer activities of the mountains.
