Tucson House Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Guesthouse With Private Patio, Barbecue, and Hot Tub

Fully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom Santa Fe Style casita, with incredible views of the mountains and the city of Tucson. This newly constructed guesthouse is fully furnished, including a clothes washer and dryer, and is located in the foothills of the Catalinas, at the base of Mount Lemmon. The guesthouse is located on a three acre property, is surrounded by Saguaros, Ocotillo, and desert wildlife, and has a private patio with a private hot tub.

Arizona National is the closest golf course and is only a 5-10 minute drive from our casita. The closest shopping center is 5 miles (10 minutes) away, according to Google Maps. The drive up to Mount Lemmon starts only minutes away and leads to hiking, cycling, mountain biking, camping, fishing, scenic overlooks, and skiing (depending upon the season and the weather). By car, downtown Tucson is 36 minutes away, and The University of Arizona is 29 minutes away (both according to Google Maps).

The guesthouse is designed to accommodate up to 2 people using the king size bed, but we may be able to accommodate a couple with a small child, as well. Please contact us about this situation ahead of any requests for booking.

Bravo! Cet endroit est magnifique pour un couple! Tout y est et la présence de la nature est vraiment agréable. La vue y est exceptionnelle tant sur le patio que dans la salle à diner et du SPA!

Congratulations! This place is great for a couple! Everything is there and the presence of nature is really nice. The view is exceptional both on the patio and in the dining room and the SPA!

Andre and Lise (Quebec)

A small recommendation, have a patio table and chairs and a sun umbrella to better enjoy the outdoors!

Une petite recommandation, avoir une table et chaises patio et un parasole pour encore mieux profiter de l'extérieur!

The Casita in Tucson

  • 5 of 5

We generally like to travel by VRBO - there are pleasant surprises and some not so pleasant. The Casita in Tucson was a fabulous place - and definitely a wonderfully pleasant surprise, exceeding our expectations. It was comfortable, quiet, and nicely furnished. The house was immaculately maintained. The setting and the views were superb. Our meals on the patio surrounded by the desert plain and four maintain ranges were absolutely amazing. The owners are genuinely nice people and invisible - but there to help if you need them. We are looking forward to our return and have already booked it.

You will wish you'd stayed longer

  • 5 of 5

In early 2015, we stayed for 5 weeks at the ‘Tucson Casita’. It is exactly as described and pictured in the listing: a very comfortable, quiet, nicely furnished, immaculately kept home in a nice desert neighborhood. It has all desired conveniences and comforts, including a washer/dryer and gas grill on the large patio. The owners are exceptionally nice and helpful, and, as another reviewer states, almost invisible, but offer good suggestions when asked about restaurants, shopping, and nearby activities. Views from the patio over the Tucson Valley and surrounding four mountain ranges are incredible. We usually scheduled dinner on the patio so we could enjoy the amazing Arizona sunsets. Desert wildlife abounds; while there we saw kestrels and other hawks, Gila woodpeckers, jackrabbits, roadrunners, mule deer, cactus wrens, gambrel quail, and countless other desert birds, all from the patio. We often heard owls in the distance at night. Breakfast in front of the large window by the table was always a treat, with the views of the desert, mountains, and sky. While we were there, a rainfall brought forth an amazing and totally unexpected abundance of flowering desert plants.

There is a wide array of activities nearby, including visiting Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, Tucson Mountain Park, Agua Caliente Park, Madera Canyon, and several museums and nature parks. The ‘crown jewel’ for us was the Sky Island Scenic Byway which starts less than a mile from the ‘Casita’ and goes about 30 miles to the top of 9,200 foot Mt. Lemmon through the Coronado National Forest. Along the way you pass through several climate zones from desert lowlands to cool alpine forests, with countless opportunities for hiking, picnics, and scenic views.

In Tucson, a several-block-long area along 4th Avenue near the University of Arizona’s beautiful campus provides interesting unique shops, excellent restaurants, and you can take a one-hour round trip on the new streetcar in air-conditioned comfort to see a lot of Tucson without walking or driving.

There are also many opportunities to do unique Arizona daytrips, including going to Tombstone, Casa Grande, and Tortilla Flat.

Oasis in the Desert

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely cottage for a week in Dec 2014. The house is literally situated at the starting point of a 25-mile beautiful scenic drive of Mt Lemmon. It is on a huge piece of property, private, quiet and peaceful.

Outside, you have private parking all to yourself. There is a nicely paved walkway leading to the cottage. At night, the lights along the curved walkway are lit up, very pretty.

There is a bench in front of the entry door surrounded by several interestingly shaped terrace flower beds. In the back of the cottage, there is a patio with a table/firepit, chairs, a granite sink and jacuzzi. From the patio as well as inside the dining room and kitchen, you have a commanding view of Tucson, as far as your eyes can see; and at night, the city becomes stars of lights twinkling in the distance while crickets are chirping.

Inside the cottage, you will notice the 10 foot high ceiling. You have pretty much everything you need. The king-size bed is very comfortable, and the shower is huge with two shower heads. One thing we noticed is that the cottage is insulated very well. It keeps your desired temperature, warm or cool, constant.

For bikers, hikers, outdoor folks, or even city folks wanting to be with nature for a change of pace, you will enjoy this place. All conveniences are just a few minutes drive away.

The owners are genuinely nice folks. They are invisible but ready to help when you need them. Some previous guests mentioned that the owners refunded their deposits very quickly. We got our deposit refund notification at the airport before our departure flight.

The owners are still expanding landscaping in some areas around the property. We look forward to seeing them in our next visit. We will definitely return and highly recommend this cottage to others.

Lovely casita with spectacular views of the different mountain ranges and city. The sunsets were amazing. The location is perfect. The owner greeted us upon arrival, was welcoming and very helpful. The casita is beautiful inside and out. It had everything we needed. We can't wait to return.

Tucson Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We knew our first trip to Tucson was going to special as soon as we arrived at this wonderful casita. The interior is lovely and the view from the porch stunning. We enjoyed watching the birds in the morning and the stars at night while soaking in the hot tub. It was easy to stage our daily adventures from this location and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. The owners are very helpful and nice. We will definitely return and highly recommend this property.
