I live in the main part of this house - renting out the two separate apartments. I enjoy meeting new people and take great pleasure in being able to share this part of the country with others. There's so much to do here you'll have to come back time and time again to see it all.

Check out my other property, same location - 352393.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1987

I bought my house in 1987. Once I toured this neighborhood, I knew it was for me. The downstairs apartment was part of the house when I moved in - and has provided opportunity for 'sharing the wealth' all these years. It was fully remodeled approximately 6 years ago to my specifications; a lovely space.

You'll be able to look out the back kitchen window at the lovely garden, enjoy the planter boxes that surround the window, enjoy a quiet and peaceful sleep in the bedroom or living room, enjoy the bright sun, walk to the park across the street. If the day is warm, open the front door and let day in - or go outside and sit in the patio area, surrounded by red raspberries, flowers and growing vegetables - meet the neighbors walking the area.

CONVENIENT TO UNIVERSITY

Steps in the bathroom were unexpected. We did not try much in the neighborhood because our daughter lives in Fremont and was graduating that weekend. We did not get a chance to meet the owner but the house was full of her character.
I would recommend this home to 2 guests, 4 would be crowded.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback. This old house does have a few quirks - one of which is the 'throne' in the bathroom. I've put that information in the "Notes" section for the apartment, so it's not a surprise! Come again and stay in #352393, which has no steps.
The one-bedroom apartment will accommodate four, but as Judy mentions, it will be crowded when the sofa-bed is opened out. The French doors between the bedroom and the living area helps to create privacy.
I'm sorry we weren't able to meet this visit. I hope you'll come back so I can remedy that!!

We greatly appreciated our weekend away at this adorable little apartment. The owner was so gracious and accommodated our last minute booking, as well. We would stay again.

GARNETT'S PLACE - A TRAVELOR'S PARADISE!

Garnett's Place - a travelor's paradise!
  • 5 of 5
When you choose a vacation rental it is often like a game of chance. Well with Garnett Hundley's Seattle apartment you are the big winner! Amazing home comforts, now this is the way to travel. Just 5 short blocks to a lovely supermarket with a dvd red box dispenser. You will be in one of Seattle's nicer (Wallingford) neighborhoods. Imagine a one bedroom apartment that can sleep 4 but shines for 2. It is fully carpeted with several oriental rugs on top, great feeling walking around barefoot. The king size bed is as comfortable as mine at home. It has an electric mattress pad for those cool nights. There is also an oscillating heater/fan with a thermostat in the bedroom closet, right next to the vacuum cleaner and oil filled radiator, and another fan by the front door, and one on the desk behind the bedroom door. Garnett provides the toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels and napkins, the dish soap, hand soap, the shampoo and conditioner, the aluminum foil, Saran wrap, wax paper, towels – bath, hand, kitchen, pots and pans for the gas range, silverware and assorted kitchen utensils. There is even a bright red apron hanging in the kitchen, shopping bags in a draw and lots of tupperware for food storage which you might not need because of all the great restaurants just a few blocks away. Prior guests have left a variety of spices and herbs, me too, if you insist on cooking. We two seniors cooked 3 meals each week. Great lighting throughout the apt., a clock radio, two flashlights, pillows and pillows, and lots of decorations giving you that homey feeling. Lots of space in the large 2 door Hotpoint refrigerator, the 12 cup Krups coffee maker and a nice 2 slice toaster. A full size shower/tub combo with plenty of hot water awaits you in the bathroom which can be tricky as there is a 6 inch step up into the bathroom itself, and another 8 ½ inch step up to the toilet, it truly feels like a royal throne :). Did I mention the lush one size fits all terry robe hanging on the back of the bathroom door? Or the cute little garden patio? We never did use the iron and ironing board or dvd player, but we did enjoy the good sized flat screen TV. Anything you might need Garnett can probably provide, she is the best landlady one could hope for. We stayed the whole month of September and street parking was easy. We harvested little cherry tomatoes from the garden every day just like Garnett told us to. No way could you get more bang for your buck!!!

Owner's Response: This sounds like a place I'd love to stay!! Lloyd and Faye are correct, I've tried to provide everything a traveler (like me) could possibly need or want - and then some. I really dislike deprivation. I'm proud of the apartments I've created, and delighted to know that folks notice and appreciate the details.

Owner's Response: I agree - this is 'the center of the universe' (at least my little universe); safe, walkable, friendly, central, and just plain inspiring. The neighborhood is diverse, obviously loved and cared for....and the diversity of restaurants, movie houses, coffee shops and hardware stores leaves nothing wanting!!

ESCAPE FROM THE DESERT SUMMER

  • 5 of 5
This was a lovely home in a really neat area of Seattle. Wallingford has a lot of shops and eateries within walking distance of this property, including a grocery store that suited my food preferences. Those who are familiar with store savings club cards will appreciate that the owner included a club card on the key chain! The apartment was very well kept and had all the amenities we needed, and was very quiet. We appreciated its proximity to Wallingford shopping as well as to Seattle's downtown and to points outside the city.

Owner's Response: We truly are centrally located; close to public transportation to downtown, the ferries, Sound Transit - and close enough to walk to anything you might need. It's the best of all worlds - in our own little world.
