One of our most favorite vacations!
We stayed at Casa Esperanza from 4/13/2013-4/19/2013 with our three children ages 12, 10, and 8. From day one until the last minute we had a terrific time! The house is cozy and homey and located in a typical neighborhood which we loved. It gave the vacation a sense of adventure and independence that you don't find while staying in resorts. Everything we needed was there including plenty of towels, comfortable furniture with a big TV, AC (which we never used, preferring the fans and open windows), a nice sitting area out front as well as a very nice, inviting one out back with a large yard. The house is easily within walking distance to Esperanza, which has plenty of dining options, as well as two stores for any groceries or last minute items. This is a rental where you can be totally immersed and on your own to explore and figure things out. However, Michelle is a great and informative host who takes great pride in her home and island and is excited to share anything she knows. She is the type of person that you can call and ask a million questions or would help you out of a bind if you found yourself in one. Fortunately, we didn't need to do that, but I felt comfortable enough with her that I felt I wouldn't be an imposition and that she would gladly help. She also has a book in her house that previous renters have written in and we found lots of good information in that as well. Even though you can walk many places I personally would suggest a car since it was a blast to explore the island, the many diverse beaches, and simply driving down dirt roads to see where they land you. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone and would gladly (and hopefully) do so again! ¡Muchísimas gracias!

Thanks so much for staying with us at Casa Esperanza and it was a true pleasure hosting you and the family. You are always welcome back and it would be a pleasure to have you stay with us again. For a family with children, you left the house in an amazing condition which I gratefully thank you for. Been very skeptical after a few instances in the past with kids, but you have restored my faith that there are still those parents that teach respect of other people and their things is just as important as respecting oneself. Do truly hope that we see you on a future visit to Vieques and next time will let you in on a few new secret spots.
