Overview

West Union House Rental Photos and Description

5+ Bedrooms, 3 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps 10

This is a beautiful waterfront home on Lake Keowee. This home was recently featured in the December 2012 Upstate Lake Living Magazine. The home was finished the summer of 2010 with top of the line appliances, marble counter-tops and all the latest upgrades. The home has 4 bedrooms with king beds, 1 bedroom has two queens and there's also a private alcove with twin bunk beds for extra kids. On the main floor we have two large fireplaces. The fireplace on the deck is a wood burning fireplace. On the patio we have a fire-pit which is perfect for toasting marshmallows!

The home is located on the southern end of lake Keowee in an upscale neighborhood consisting of million dollar homes. This neighborhood consists of just 26 properties and is surrounded by 32 acres of conservatory land owned by the neighborhood.

At the lake, we have an over-sized covered dock and deep water (15+ feet) all year long. On the shore we also have a large10x20ft deck area that remains shaded most of the day. For fun we have two kayaks, a Foosball table, a ping pong table, 50' large screen TV and plenty of board games and books to read. We recently added a 2nd 51' TV above the fireplace in the main family room.

Things to do within 10 minutes of the house: Miniature golf, par 3 golf, go cart racing, batting cages, spa treatments, antiquing, and ice cream

Things to do within 20 minutes: Medical facilities in downtown Seneca and at least 20 great restaurants including; Italian, Japanese, Greek, Mexican, Steakhouses, Barbeque and Pizza.

At least three great antique malls, flea markets and 3 shopping centers.

Golfing at your choice of three local country clubs.

Clemson offers additional shopping, eating and recreational opportunities.

Things to do withing 30 minutes: Heading north and/or west will bring you into the wilderness of the Appalachian mountain area which offers a wide range of recreational activities including hiking, waterfalls, fly fishing, rafting and kayaking on the Chattooga river, apple picking, zip lines, horseback riding and many more activities. One of our favorites is stumphouse tunnel up on rte 107.

About Lake Keowee Properties, LLC

I'm a native New Yorker who moved to Atlanta in 1996.

Lake Keowee Properties, LLC purchased this house in 2005

Why Lake Keowee Properties, LLC chose West Union

We've been coming to Lake Keowee since we discovered it back in 2003. In 2005 we bought this land, added a boat dock, some water toys and made plans for our future home.It took longer than we anticipated but finally in 2010 our dream came true and we finally finished our beautiful home.

What makes this house unique

Quite exclusive neighborhood, yet close to town and all the local amenities and activities! Beautiful clear deep water.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a perfect week here at the lake. Your home was just the right size for our family and friends. Each room is beautifully decorated and is so comfortable.

Thank you for opening your home to guests. We all greatly appreciate it! Hope to be back very soon!

First look at the photos of this home, then try to imagine it being more perfect. ImpossibIe. It is, by far, the loveliest, best-kept, cleanest, best appointed, best-furnished, most comfortable, best all-around home in which we have ever vacationed. Make no mistake. This is not just a house with a dock. It is a real home away from home with a breath-taking view--an aerie in the trees, where coffee on the screened porch for the sunrise over the lake is worth the early rising. We were six adults with a "gaggle of girls" ages 9-16. Pull up 2 kitchen stools, and everyone fits at the dining tables, too. The big "two Ts" of television and texting gave way to reading and family games as the in-between and evening activities of choice. Cell phones seemed to be used only for "please come back with the boat and pick me up at the dock" calls and for photos. We rented a deck boat for the week from the marina, and left it tied at the dock each evening. All the girls learned to water ski, but equally enjoyed being hauled around on, and bounced off of, a towed raft. Lots of swimming and kayak races from the dock, with a much appreciated ladder from the water to the dock for the less athletic adults. You'll have to read the other reviews to learn about the local attractions and dining, as we all threw away out "things-to-do" lists within hours of arrival. The kitchen was fabulous and, right down to the coffee grinder, required nothing to be toted from home. We couldn't bear to leave for anything but the lake, and easily fed the whole group at home three times a day. The girls declared unanimously on day one that it was the BEST VACATION EVER! The weather was perfect but for one rainy, chilly day--sweaters, fire pit and "smores" time! That day demonstrated the ease of finding one's own place to read quietly, or joining other family members for rowdy board games. Bonuses? Lots of linens and towels, comfortable beds and bedding, washer and dryer, kitchen island for gathering around, LOTS of counter space, full sets (plural!) of pots and pans, more than enough dishes and flatware, etc. We love to cook, and had to bring with us--nothing! Bring the first morning's breakfast, then shop nearby for anything and everything else you might want to cook or have on hand. Lynn and her husband are amazing, accommodating and gracious hosts--without qualification. I used far too many words here when one would have sufficed. PERFECT! Okay, make it three words. BEST VACATION EVER!

Lovely home on Keowee, close to Clemson

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautifully decorated and was a great setting for our extended family to stay together during our daughter's graduation from Clemson. We swam in the lake a couple times (just dove off the property's dock) but didn't rent a boat on this trip. Loved all the different seating areas, especially the gorgeous porch which we used for most meals, playing games, etc. I drank my coffee there every morning and felt like I was in a tree house since it sits up high amid the leaves, birds chirping, etc. The home was an easy 15 minute drive to Clemson so it was convenient to go back and forth for the graduation festivities. Wish we had discovered this place before our daughter's senior year!! The owner is great to work with - super responsive to any of our inquiries during the reservation and rental process, and kept us informed about receiving payments, etc. All in all, a great experience!

This home has it all!

  • 5 of 5

We were 2 families from Dallas with 4 adults and 5 kids who stayed on the lake for spring break. The house had plenty of room for all of us. We loved the game area in the basement and enjoyed the Foosball and ping pong table. The fire pit outside was perfect for hanging out at the end of the day. The house is on very quite cul-de-sac and it is close to town, restaurants, groceries and Clemson. The kitchen has everything and I mean everything you need if you want to stay in and cook. The house is beautifully decorated and we will return!

Relaxing, beautiful home!

This home is gorgeous! 4 Couples rented for the Clemson/Citadel game. We relaxed by the fire, and and our college age kids came in for dinner Friday evening. Awesome vista from the back patio. Amenities galore!

Outstanding!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we rented this property and it was just as good as the first time. The property is spotless, modern, well-equipped and in a perfect location. You feel like you are in a remote mountain location, but you are actually minutes from restaurants, shopping, etc. We (6 adults and 5 children) stayed on the water the whole time. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and kept it at the dock and I would recommend that. The house is on a quiet part of the lake and we tubed and knee-boarded daily. The location is also close to other fun activities - we kayaked the Chatahoochee River and rafted the Chatooga. I almost hate to give this property such a high review because I'm afraid it won't be available the next time we want to rent it. It's that nice!!

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend in this beautiful home. The owner, Lynn have gone above and beyond to make her home a very special place to be on Lake Keowee. Lynn was very easy to deal with and answered all of our questions promptly. The views were breathtaking, the location is perfect and the house was immaculate and beautifully decorated.
