Great home for a large group!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation in this well-maintained mountain home! We were a party of 11, spanning three generations with ages from 2-70. Everybody had a great time at the home and the surrounding area.
Regarding the home, it fit everyone quite comfortably in the available space. We rented it especially for the large dining room table that we could all fit around for family dinners and talking. The views from the deck and the roads in the community were gorgeous - million dollar sunrises :-)
The game room was a fun place to spend time! The kids (4 year olds) loooved their kid bedroom & stuffed animals on their beds. The younger child (2) actually slept in his pack n play in the huge closet of the third floor master bedroom - funny, but it worked perfectly! If you have younger children, bring activities/toys for them.
Because we love to cook and spend time in the kitchen/dining room, our 'room for improvement' thoughts include to invest in a larger grill (we grilled fish, which luckily cooks quickly, as we had to do it in three rounds. The grill was too small to attempt chicken & corn, etc., for our group size), a set of pyrex mixing bowls, and some nice serving dishes & serving silverware. We had brought some of our own cookware in the case that the home had Teflon cookware, as most rental homes do; so if you prefer to not cook on scratched Teflon, bring some stainless steel / cast iron from home. There were two medium stainless steel pots in the home.
The downstairs bedrooms are quite charming; only suggestion there might be to offer a spot for personal toiletries in the shared bathroom.
The chairs, swings, and hammock on the deck & below were just so nice & relaxing!
We feel we only scratched the surface of things to do in the area. We loved Chimney Rock, and the entire party did the falls hike. Lake Lure has a fun water park area with splash pad, two water slides, nice beach, and boat rental - you have to pay to enter, but it's worth it. Asheville was so sweet, and we ate at The Laughing Seed twice. Yum! Two of us hiked the upper Catawba Falls trail, which was quite rough - not recommended for kids - but SO gorgeous. Two others hiked the lower falls and enjoyed that very much, too.
Our group saw a young bear on the first day (driving into the preserve), lots of turkey, and a coyote.
All in all, we loved it and would return. Thank you! And thank you for keeping the rate manageable for families!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review and comments. We are happy you and your family had a great week and enjoyed the home as much as we do. Based on your suggestion, we will soon be investing in a larger grill for the expanded back deck and some additional cookware for the kitchen. Thanks again and we hope to see you back again.
