NOW WITH CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING!! The Maas Family's original historic house built with the experimental glazed ceramic brick back in 1912. It was billed as the unbreakable brick and this house is proof. Today, only 2 structures still exist with this brick; the Quaintance Block building at 805 13th Street, and the tunnels at Union Station in Denver, and this house - Wow! The house (renovated in 2011) has fenced yard is conveniently located in a unique, family-friendly block in downtown historic Golden, where a 3-minute walk along the Clear Creek nature trail will take you to galleries, coffee shops and boutiques. Golden was the first capitol of the Colorado Territory, founded in 1859. Easy access to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, world-class ski areas, Casinos in Black Hawk, Denver and Boulder, makes Golden an ideal location for travelers.

The house is comfortably furnished with all new furniture plus historic decor. Sleeping accommodations include two queen beds, two twin-size beds. Views include rim rocks of North Table Mountain, Historic Castle Rock of South Table Mountain, Lookout Mountain and overlooks the Coors Brewery. Natural-style landscaping create a restful, mountain-cabin atmosphere with easy access to all the modern and historical attractions of the former Gold Rush-era town center.

Adjacent to Clear Creek and walking distance to all Golden has to offer. Cross the bridge behind house into Vanover Park at the end of the kayak course. Two blocks from the start of the Coors Brewery Tour. Two blocks to the Golden Hotel. Great for parents of Colorado School of Mines students and wedding parties. And you are only 20 minutes from Downtown Denver.

I cannot say enough about this beautiful house. Perfect size, perfect location, beautiful woodwork, charming decor, it far exceeded our expectations. We were close to the mountains, close to Denver, walking distance from downtown Golden, and had enough room to entertain a few local relatives for a day. Kitchen was well stocked and the house was spotless. Although it was a little chilly, we were able to spend some time just sitting out on the cool front porch. We loved this place and will definitely return next time we are in Colorado. Thank you!!

The Glazed Brick house was exactly how it is described & more. The cosy home made you feel just that way...At Home. The kitchen was well layed out with clean and newer appliances. The bathroom was CLEANER if that's possible. The bedrooms were exactly as described with room to spare. The twins had a room to themselves adjoining ours helping everyones comfort level. The Master bedroom was very spacious and allowed our older, married children ample privacy. The price was perfect. We saved nearly $1000.00 in hotel costs and were together & comfortable. It's too bad I can't give John & Amy 6 stars. They deserve it. It's our hope to stay again in the summer!!

Perfect Location and Size for a Family of 5

This rental home was as advertised-- a very cozy home set literally steps from bustling downtown Golden. This was our first trip to Golden (for a family wedding) and we couldn't have picked a better home. With three boys 5 and under, we needed space and easy access to parks. The welcome packet was very helpful because it showed us top nearby restaurants.

Our only negative was some substantial sand on the floors upon our arrival that we had to sweep up (apparently leftover from a recent pavestone project in the backyard-- which looks great).

Other than that, this home exceeded all expectations and was a welcome alternative to a 3 night stay in a cramped hotel. We will be back!

Our trip to The Glazed Brick House in Golden was great! The house was very comfortable and clean and laid out perfectly for a weekend getaway. We were able to cook big meals at the house or take a short walk for a nice dinner. The location of the house allows for a convenient walk down the adjacent walking path, along the creek and directly to the downtown area. The area is quiet and safe. We were able to drive to Boulder in 20minutes for a long lunch and shopping. The owners were reachable by phone and quite accomodating. I would recommend this house for a quick getaway or an extended stay!
