Eastham House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths + outdoor shower (Sleeps 6-9)

A unique place, our 'Nauset Teepee' promises you a memorable family holiday in a clean, quiet setting that is distinctively Cape Cod.

The floorplan offers a first floor bedroom with a king size bed and full bath, large common room with walls of windows bringing the beautiful woodsy outdoors right inside. The open kitchen area has a standard stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher and sink with plenty of counter space for preparing meals. There is also an outdoor gas grille and picnic table. Up the spiral stairs to the second floor, you'll discover two large bedrooms, one with a set of twin beds, the other, a queen. Both bedrooms have high ceilings, tall windows and wonderful views of the private grounds.

The totally naturalized setting of this special house will appeal to those who seek comfort in the beauty of the woods. The trees here teem with birdlife and this secluded sandy lane provides a pleasant stroll or jog past other country homes. Just minutes away by bike or car are the bay and ocean beaches.

Campground Beach is a short walk from the house....a perfect place to view the glorious Cape Cod Sunsets. During low tide the kids will love tidepooling there while adults relax nearby. During the high tide the surf is a beauty to behold. Also close by are miles and miles of the famed National Seashore Ocean Beaches..Coast Guard and Nauset Light ( Watch for seals often seen in the Atlantic!) Fresh water ponds with lifeguards just blocks away as well as the BIKE TRAIL and walking trails. About Jeanne Fleming Mino

Although we grew up in the 'City' and now live in the Hudson Valley farm country, we LOVE the beach. In our early days of marriage, pre-kids, we'd go to the antique shops on the weekends and one time we found an antique CRAB door knocker. We joked that we'd build a beach house for it someday. When the opportunity came to buy this house we did and gave the CRAB a home :) Our children feel that Cape Cod is just as much home as where we live most of the time. They are well versed in fishing, crabbing, boating, whales, turtles and TIDES...a world very different from the pastures here in NY state. Because it is our second home, you will not feel like it is a rental. We take pride in making it feel like home. As a matter of fact, our House was featured on HGTV's National Open House in August 2007. We can't imagine life without our Cape Cod Teepee.

Jeanne Fleming Mino purchased this house in 2003

Why Jeanne Fleming Mino chose Eastham

North Eastham is convenient to so much of what the Cape has to offer. It is one of the narrowest towns on the Cape..making it a short walk to the bay ( 10 min) and a short drive to the ocean( 6 min) There is a large fresh water swimming pond, with lifeguards, within walking distance of the house as well. Eastham is home to the famed National Seashore Beach- Coast Guard Beach- and a five minute drive to the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. Close by are all the places mentioned in the description and it is also the first town on the Cape that my husband and I visited together. After months of searching, we found this unique house in a rare, beautiful setting. We like its less manicured, woodsy feel.

What makes this house unique

Our property is private...We sit on a 'Cape Cod acre.' It is quiet and woodsy located down a sandy/grassy lane. ( No Rt. 6 traffice noise) There are other homes nearby but you have the sense of privacy without feeling isolated. I love to garden so there are plantings all over and the deck and upstairs balcony offer nice venues to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. The house has an open loft like main floor. The ceilings are high and the glass 'walls of windows' allow one to bring the outdoors, indoors. The bay is a short walk (1 mile)) away and the bike trail, restaurants, etc are easy to access. I love to cook also so the kitchen has lobster pots, bread maker, etc...everything the cook needs to prepare meals if you choose. Children are always welcome and they enjoy the spiral staircase as much as the safe play area all around the house. The kids will be safe so parents can relax.

The backyard is a large open area and there is a private hot/cold shower room there with a lovely beachy garden for dining and BBQ.

Check out our guestbook for more on what visitors have to say about their Nauset Teepee experience!

Nice little place to relax in.

  • 4 of 5

The teepee was a nice relaxing place for my family and I. Pluses like of board games and classic cartoons to wact on the rainy days we were there. Good and friendly town near by. Only down side it was an adventure to find all the light switches to the lights.

Owner's Response: I am glad to hear that the house was comfortable and relaxing over the Christmas holiday and you enjoyed your family visit. Since it is an A Frame ( less walls, more open space) those light switches can be a challenge I suppose. You can always call/text me- I am "on call" for my renters throughout the stay! Thank you for pointing out the issue - we'll label them next time we are up for a stay.

Relaxing time in Cape Cod

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the Nauset Teepee after two hectic days of visiting in Boston. We were immediately charmed by the comfortable cottage feel. Visiting in November, we loved being able to heat the cottage with the wood stove. The beach is also walking distance and the walk through the cottage roads was romantic. There were plenty of activities to do just a few minutes away from the house. We rented bikes and ate at a few of the nearby restaurants, all of which were quite descent. One of our best night was spent cooking a massive lobster we bought fresh at Mac's a few blocks away. The place was great and I would recommend it to anyone, particularly families with children.

Owner's Response: It sounds like a wonderfully relaxing time.... and you seem to have found many of the treasures of Eastham-the restaurants, the bike path, the sandy roads that lead to the beach and fresh Lobster from Mac's! Yum! Even though the house is heated, I agree that the wood stove adds a romantic ambience. So nice to hear you enjoyed you stay.

My Escape

  • 5 of 5

Walking into Mino's house feels like coming home. A beautiful, clean and well maintained house. All accommodations and more was there to be found. One of my favourite things was to take a shower outside. As for locations it was easy to get to the bay side and watch one of the most beautiful sunset to be seen, and easy to get to the 22 mile bike trail, both just a few minutes away. I can highly recommend this house, and for myself and my family we cant wait for next year to be back in Cape Cod and The Minos house!!

Owner's Response: We are so happy to share our home away from home with our guests, and to hear that you have taken advantage of the nearby bike trail and enjoyed the sunsets at Campground Beach. We aim to keep the house clean, well maintained and comfortable so you can relax and enjoy the beaches, shops, cafes in town as well as everything else the Cape has to offer from our centrally located spot. We will look forward to having you back next time!

ANOTHER great experience at the Nauset Teepee!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at the Teepee and we were just as happy with this visit as with the last. I have to say that my favorite thing is the privacy. Peaceful and quiet, yet so close to all the hot spots and points of interest. We sat out on the front "porch" every night and it felt like we were in the middle of our own private woods. FABULOUS! Everything was nice and clean, too. Will be staying again. THANK YOU

hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

What a magical place! Located in the woods but not far from any amenity, this "Storybook" house is divine. Roomy, filled with light and lovingly appointed, its a homerun.

Owner's Response: So true. The "magic" of the place has inspired many an artist, especially poets, writers and some painters, to come and visit, again and again in the different seasons. We are always willing to open the house to "off season" guests as well as our "summer folks". Thanks for sharing that!
