About Sharon Drossos

.We are a family of 4. Sharon is a flight attendant, I take care of business at home while she is away. Our two boys are full of adventure and keep us busy.

Sharon Drossos purchased this house in 2010

Why Sharon Drossos chose Divide

The Whole family loves the woods. We came up to Divide and fell in love with the tranquility and the views.

What makes this house unique

For us it is just plain fun to stay in and play games and spend quality time together. There are plenty of things to do when we get bored of each other, but that hasn't happened yet.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Perfect for Colorado Get-Away

  • 5 of 5
BEAUTIFUL! My family of 3 and another family of 3 stayed for 6 nights. The 3 bedrooms were spacious and the 2 bathrooms were perfect. The master bathroom was huge; it was the size of a small bedroom. There were two living rooms. The living room right off the kitchen had a large sectional that all 6 of us would sit on in the evenings and watch movies. The other living room was nice for someone have some quiet time or sit in the massage chair. The hot tub was wonderful in the early mornings or late evenings. We had a large male black bear show up at the cabin one night. He came right up on the deck but left quickly when the motion light went on. He came back each night, hoping to grab some food from the bear-proof garbage can. That first night, we were taken aback by seeing a bear, but after talking to the locals (especially in Woodland Park), who weren't a bit scared of them, our fears were calmed down. On one of our day trips to Woodland Park, we shopped at the Western Store (next to the Ute Cafe which has really good food) and the gal told us story after story of black bears in the area. She generally just "shoos" them away. She's had a few bears that like to run in the pasture with her horses and had cubs climbing in her trees! During our five days, we went to Manitou Springs (watch out if it's raining quite a bit as Highway 24 will be shut down), and shopped for the afternoon. We slept in, cooked a big breakfast, then headed to Manitou. Another day we rode the Cog Train (3-hour round trip) then ate lunch at The Ute (Woodland Park). We drove to Colorado Springs to visit the Olympic Training Center and that afternoon went to Garden of the Gods. On another full day, we went to Florissant (fossil beds) in the morning and the Wolf Sanctuary in the afternoon. We'd heard that McGinty's (there in Divide) was a good place to eat so we gave it a try. We actually called in our order, drove to get it and ate it at the cabin. All 6 of us LOVED our meal. In fact, after going to the Wolf Sanctuary a few days later, we ate there again. The pizzas are amazing, loved the salmon sandwich, meatloaf, club sandwich, etc. It was all sooo good. The owners were a dream to work with. There was a huge lightning strike (the night of the first bear episode) which blew fuses in the kitchen. It did not bother our stay but he offered to get an electrician right away. We opted to just wait until we left to have electrician come. GREAT TRIP. SAD IT'S OVER.

Ultimate Comfort

  • 5 of 5
This cabin is the ultimate "comfort" getaway! The owners have not overlooked a thing! My favorite spot was the master bath. The steam shower was fabulous, as was the jacuzzi tub.

You could easily fall asleep in the massage chair (with setting on shoulders). But most surprising to me was that the owners would go to the expense of finding the most comfortable living room and family room furniture ever.

Outside you could hear a pin drop in the forest - that's how incredibly quiet it is. The children enjoyed playing outside and swinging on the tire swing. They also enjoyed all the indoor games. We saw several shooting stars from the patio and hot tub.

What can I say but that now I am spoiled! No more hotel stays for me in Colorado!

Many thanks to the owners for being so thoughtful as to think of their guests' comfort in every way imaginable! I'm sure we will be back!

Awesome Stay!

  • 5 of 5
We had a great stay over the last week! We were looking for a place "away from it all" while still being to stay connected, this is the best of both worlds. The cabin is well-maintained and has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. We loved it so much, we are already booking for next year! Can't wait to come back!

AWESOME!!!

  • 5 of 5
We had a blast staying here - thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! We have two girls who simply had the time of their lives. Our only regret was not staying longer - we over-filled our weekend with all sorts of things, but would have enjoyed absorbing this awesome cabin instead! :) We will definitely be returning, and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great getaway. Thank you again!!!!

Thank you for a great stay!

  • 4 of 5
Overall, this house is great. Love the views, the solitude, the massage chair was great (now I have to go buy one of those, thanks), and everything was as advertised. I also really like that everything is labeled as to how to use them. The owners had great communication and were very friendly (although I never really met them beyond speaking to them on the phone). The only reasons I didn't give a five star rating is:

The hot tub was borderline on needing to be cleaned. We found a paper clip in there and the water was pretty foamy. I've been in worse though.

I didn't like having to pay for damage insurance AND a refundable damage deposit. I am perfectly fine with the $100 deposit, not the $50 non-refundable insurance fee.

I would have liked to be able to turn the lights off at night time while sitting in the hot tub. It's a shame not to be able to take advantage of the lack of light pollution while looking at the stars at night.

Lastly, and better planning on our part could have avoided this problem, we were celebrating my wife's return from deployment Friday night, with a bottle of her favorite wine. It's 9pm, and we notice there is no bottle opener. It's too late to go out and get one too. It just kind of spoiled that surprise. I should not have assumed there would be one but I expected there to be one. Again, this seems insignificant but it was a serious buzz kill (literally).

Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay and relax. We will certainly consider staying here again. This stay for us was to spend time with each other after being apart for 7 months and do so without the kids. I think next time we might actually enjoy the house with the kids.
