Amazing Girls' Weekend!

The three of us needed a ladies trip that took us out of the city and up into the mountains, and The Loft was exactly the right place for us. We arrived late in the night, but Joan was awesome and came over and made us feel super welcome.
The restaurant below The Loft was delicious (we LOVED the tempura crab cake masterpiece), the chef came to our table and was incredibly hospitable, and we even munched on some leftovers the next night upstairs in The Loft. If you're making reservations (we didn't) and you're looking for a private couple's dining experience, ask for the little lover's cove thing - though you'll have to describe it, because I just made that term up myself. (It's a nice table for two made semi-private by some whimsical-looking ceiling to floor drapes.)
We hit up a BEAUTIFUL (think: stunningly beautiful) local vineyard and did a wine tasting, antiqued, watched a DVD at the house on the day it was drizzling, and generally enjoyed the heck out of our trip. We will say one other, maybe strange thing: two of us slept on the couches and lounge chair all three nights because they were **so amazingly comfortable.** Honestly, we weren't even tempted by the beds upstairs in the loft part of the home. (Worth noting that if you like firm mattresses, this place is a firm mattress haven!) So while four beds exist in The Loft, I'd say three others would be comfortable in the two couches and one lazy boy.
Not for nothing, but there's also an amazing open, unoccupied dance studio-like place attached to The Loft. Sort of like an oversized, indoor, front porch. If you are nice, Joan might let you dance around up there. Great place for the kids to play if you're worried about being holed up in The Loft's living space together with no place for them to explore safely. This giant open space (maybe 1800 sq ft?) is a kid with an imagination's dream - and it's basically attached to The Loft's living room.
Our overall review: something about this places just makes everyone feel at ease. Enjoy!
(Thanks Joan!!)
