The home is located on M119 Heritage Highway (bring your bicycle) with 165 feet of frontage on Lake Michigan for beach activities. There is a boat launch 1 mile away. There are many hiking trails through area forests and conservancy properties. The village offers a post office, general store-gas station,churches, and restaurants. There are several artists in the neighborhood with opportunities for classes/workshops. Multiple golf courses are a short drive away. Excellent medical care is available in nearby Petoskey. Mackinac City and ferries to Mackinac Island are less than a 1/2 hr. drive. An eclectic variety of activities abounds in the area: watch a polo match, visit See-North bird rescue, attend a concert at Bay View, go to the casino, climb a dune, shop, eat in one of many area restaurants, or just tuck in with a good book.

Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinac City ( ferries to Mackinac Island) and Cheboygan are all less than 1/2 hour drive. Day trips to the upper peninsula are an option.

Notes: There is so much to do that we have found TV unnecessary. There are multiple board games, puzzles, and books. We have a dish connection to the internet which is the best available in the area. It is, however, not much faster than dial-up and service is limited. There is extensive decking with table and chairs on the lower deck for eating 'out' plus a Weber Genesis Grill. The beach is a combination of sand and small rocks which varies with weather conditions so bring water shoes.

Absolutely Perfect!

My family and I have been vacationing on Lake Michigan for many years....and this stay was our favorite! The house was lovely and the views from every window were awesome...like staying in a treehouse with a beautiful view of the lake. The owner was extremely helpful and we would highly recommend this home. We would love to stay again next year!
Owner's Response: I am delighted you had a good time. We worked with the architect to create a design which would accentuate the view. The interior is decorated in neutrals to keep your eye focused on the windows which serve as large works of art.

Our extended family stayed at the Lelo house and had an awesome time. Laurelynne was a great host. Incredible views. Great beach and swimming. Kids spent a lot of time down there. Looking forward to next year!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at your lovely home so much! The house was clean and very warm and welcoming, and my son and I really appreciated your book selection. The views from the house and the deck were beautiful and we enjoyed having the beach all to ourselves every day. The overall ambiance of the place was so peaceful and relaxing that we changed our plan for a day trip to Mackinaw Island because we wanted more time at the house! We would love to come back sometime.

Great memories

We greatly enjoyed our week in the Lello House. The home is incredibly comfortable and inviting. The kids loved swimming and riding their bikes into town for pop and candy bars! My husband and I enjoyed the walks on the beach and the gorgeous sunsets; as well as the orange bread at the Good Hart General store and the crepes!

We love the location as Cross Village is a quiet and peaceful place in the world. The house is warm and inviting. While we kind of struggled with the idea of having no television, we actually have not missed it at all. Instead we are laughing, talking, listening to music, playing games, and sharing quality family time. The beach is lovely.
