Rebecca Hintze has been a resident of Montana for over 14 years, however, she first fell in love with Montana over 30 years ago, and spent every minute of vacation time in Montana, until she could finally move here. In the early 90’s, she purchased property in the Bitterroot Valley, when ordinary folks could still buy land in Montana…and somehow ended up living in her dream log home just west of Livingston. In the late 1990's, Rebecca had Blue Moon Cabin built next to her home. She has been successfully renting the cabin to happy Montana vacationers since 2004.
Rebecca Hintze purchased this cabin in 1991
Since I live next to Blue Moon Cabin, I am obviously biased as to why I love staying here. The calm, quiet atmosphere, natural surroundings and opportunity for wildlife viewing make my home extraordinary. I love being able to step right outside my door and head into the forest with my hiking boots or snowshoes on and go on a beautiful hike...no driving...no hassle. The views, especially night time sky on a clear night are amazing. Feels like you can just touch the stars...
Thank you so much for letting me and my fiance stay at your beautiful cabin. We had the best time relaxing and enjoying the amazing views. We cannot wait to come back!
My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and we had a get away that was well worth it. The surroundings were so peaceful and just what we needed. Being up in the mountains made us forget reality for a few days and our motto was "life is good"!!! We got to see a hawk land on our front porch and a deer eat fresh raspberries no more than 15 feet from the back deck. The awe and beauty that surrounded us filled our spirit, the hot tub was a plus too :) We are talking about making it a yearly visit. We felt right at home and close enough to shops, white water rafting, zip lining and so much more....life is good!!!
The Blue Moon was the perfect place to go "home" to after our many day trips to Yellowstone. It was comfortable, quiet and the amenities were superb. We fully enjoyed the hot tub with the spectacular view. The only visitor we had during our one week stay was a white tail deer. We did however get a chance to meet Rebecca as we were leaving, we shared a hug and I thanked her for building such a beautiful cabin and sharing her piece of heaven with us.
Had a fantastic time in Montana (first visit) & this cabin was perfect for our home base. Well stocked kitchen, very clean & spotless! Plenty of towels, blankets, kitchen dishes, pots, etc. Hot tub was a wonderful retreat after a long day of fly fishing. Lots of privacy. Owner helped us out on a snowy day, which was very nice. Scenery is breathtaking. Would definitely rent this cabin again!
This cabin has great atmosphere and a fabulous view. Wildlife like moose and deer pass right by as you sit quietly on the deck. It's close to Livingston, which is a charming town with good restaurants and about an hour of scenic driving into Yellowstone. It comes with everything you need for a pleasant stay.
My husband and I came here back in October for our honeymoon. We had never been to Montana, and this was the PERFECT taste of everything the state has to offer. Log cabin with views of the beautiful mountains in the background. A hottub! Fully functional kitchen. Very, very clean. Relics of past tenants throughout the cabin. Not one, but two decks! The owner was great, she left us a dozen roses and a fresh bottle of wine upon our arrival. Granted, we never did get a change to meet her, but she outdid herself in such a way that we never HAD to see her :)
Twenty minutes away from anything you may need. Wal-Mart. Mall. Movies. Shopping. Sightseeing. Restaurants. And Yellowstone is right around the corner.
