Crafted from handpeeled, Swedish Cope logs in the year 2000, Blue Moon Cabin features two beautiful decks that overlook forested hills with views of the Bridger and Absaroka Mountains. A delightful hot tub sits on the back deck in a very private setting.

This secluded, yet accessible, location makes a great base for creating your Montana vacation experience. Close to Bozeman and Livingston, both towns offer a unique blend of small town hospitality, great restaurants, art galleries, museums and local history.

About Rebecca Hintze

Rebecca Hintze has been a resident of Montana for over 14 years, however, she first fell in love with Montana over 30 years ago, and spent every minute of vacation time in Montana, until she could finally move here. In the early 90’s, she purchased property in the Bitterroot Valley, when ordinary folks could still buy land in Montana…and somehow ended up living in her dream log home just west of Livingston. In the late 1990's, Rebecca had Blue Moon Cabin built next to her home. She has been successfully renting the cabin to happy Montana vacationers since 2004.

What makes this cabin unique

Since I live next to Blue Moon Cabin, I am obviously biased as to why I love staying here. The calm, quiet atmosphere, natural surroundings and opportunity for wildlife viewing make my home extraordinary. I love being able to step right outside my door and head into the forest with my hiking boots or snowshoes on and go on a beautiful hike...no driving...no hassle. The views, especially night time sky on a clear night are amazing. Feels like you can just touch the stars...

Thank you so much for the wonderful cabin!! We all enjoyed a lot. My mom kept trying to name one thing that she could not find in the well-equipped kitchen -- but she couldn't. And my dad kept wondering how you could maintain the cabin so well!

The location was fabulous, up a quiet mountain road, the cabin was very clean and comfortable, and the hostess was great. We had everything we needed there.

My wife and I stayed at Blue Moon Cabin for two glorious weeks. The weather was superb and the surrounding countryside was wonderful with plenty to see and do.

The cabin is situated in the middle of tree clad mountain and is visited by inquisitive mule eared deer, who come right up to the back door, and if you are lucky, as we were, you might catch sight of a moose as he runs down the mountain track.

The cabin is very well appointed with everything you could possibly want for a first class holiday whether that is just sitting on the porch in the sunshine watching the numerous birds feeding or exploring the the fabulous wide open countryside. The choice is yours.

On arrival there was a nice gift of flowers from Rebecca in the cabin which complimented the the homely touches of the decor, making one feel immediately at home. The icing on the cake were the relaxing evenings under the stars in the hot tub on the rear porch.

I think the best compliment we could give is we wished the cabin belonged to us. A marvellous cabin, marvellous location and marvellous holiday and tops our list at number one.

Bring a good book, a bottle of wine, and some hiking shoes and you're all set. For me, Blue Moon Cabin was a great escape from city life for a few days. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and cozy warm, and the beds are so soft! You can take a short hike up the hill in the backyard to a breathtaking panoramic view of several mountain ranges, then relax in the evening in the hot tub underneath a canopy of evergreens. The owner, Rebecca, is a fantastic host! I would go back in a heartbeat.
