650 m2 of living area- 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms; 100 acres of land

•Holiday country estate for rent with 20 meter on-site swimming pool, tennis court and equestrian facilities (possibility to ride our pure blood Andalusian horses) set in the midst of beautiful Catalan countryside with magnificent views over the volcanic National Park of Garrotxa and the Pyrennees.

•Tastefully restored historic estate with the main house and annex building. Six en-suite bedrooms and four bedrooms that share a full bathroom make up the ten bedrooms (8 bathrooms) of the estate (sleeps up to 20 persons). There are two fully-equipped kitchens with large dining areas, sitting rooms with fireplaces and TV, 20m private pool with extensive terrace and sunbeds, 50m2 covered terrace with built-in barbecue area, mature gardens, tennis court, 1.000 m2 equestrian ring for riding horses.

Suitable for wheelchair, elderly and children. Pet friendly.

Additional information about rental rates

Refundable damage deposit 520$ will be charged and returned after the inspection of property. Reservation fee 30%. Pay balance - 4 weeks before arrival. Final cleaning is included in the price. The rental includes linen, towels and beach towels, charcoal and wood for fireplaces. If two weeks are booked, linen and towels will be changed after one week. Extra maid service and babysitting possible.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

We stayed at Can Pau the first week of September, 2012. The setting is spectacular, secluded with spectacular views over Pyrennees. It is short drive to Banyoles where you can get anything you need. The area is very beautiful with lot of places to visit.

The house and the anex building were perfectly set up for our party of 16. The main kitchen had every utensil we needed, the rooms were comfortable and clean. We used all of the outside amenities - barbecue area, swimming-pool and the tennis court. The kids and the adults enjoyed riding the horses. They were great - gentle and so well behaved.

Cess (caretaker) took a very good care of us.

Overall, I would highly recommend it!!!

We spent a few days including New Year's eve in Can Pau with a large group of friends - 9 couples with 10 childrens between 0 and 5 years. We simply had a fantastic time!
The property was big, confortable and clean. The garden very well kept and just perfect for outdoor activities with kids even in winter time.
A special thanks to Cess for making our stay so easy! He has been available all the time for helping and we got lots of nice tips on the area around which offers a number of great restaurants and beautiful spots.
Wish we could comer back to Can Pau very soon!

We just wanted to share our wonderful experience at Can Pau. We stayed there for one week and we wished we could stay more. The setting is magnificent, the main house very comfortable (the king-size beds especially), the swimming-pool, the gardens all very well kept and beautiful. We very much enjoyed the horses that we could enjoy during our stay - great for horse lovers!!! We highly recommend it to anybody. Carolina Martino and the family.

Stay in Can Pau

Just wanted to drop you a note from all of us and tell you what a truly wonderful time we had visiting Can Pau. What a relaxing, beautiful place! We feel so, so lucky to have discovered it. It was just what we hoped for. Everyone was extremely comfortable and the children loved having the run of the property. Thanks so much to Ces and Natalya for their hospitality and all the nice little touches they provided to make the stay a memorable and easy one. They were never too busy to help us with one thing or another, and Ces was very gentle and calm with the children around the horses, which was really a thrill for them.

We have rented several houses over the years and have never had such a completely positive experience. We also love the new place and were very appreciative that Ces took the time to show us around the stunning house and tell us the story of San Bartomeu. I think you have some special spirits living in that place--we felt them, anyway, and felt truly blessed to be there.

In any case, we hope that we will be making a return visit in the future.

Oh by the way, all your suggestions were great--we loved the restaurant in Besalu and Vinil in Girona. Couldn't get in at Can Roca, we were "winging it" a bit too much, but it would be worth a return trip. Discovered on our own a little place in Santa Pau just off the main square (name escaping me at the moment, but it must be well-known if all the "celebrity photos" on the walls are any indication), where the food was divine and the atmosphere (we were able to sit outside) was perfect for a lazy lunch. Do you mind if I post a note about your place and the various places we visited around there on my favorite travel websites?
