Located just minutes from rt.89 nestled in the side of a ridge, our home is a delight for visitors of all ages! The 23 acres property includes hiking/snowshoeing trails, a pond, a ravine, a camp outbuilding, 2 fire pit/seating areas, gorgeous gardens, and a children's swing set. Our home sleeps 13 amongst a beautiful 1st floor king master bedroom with jacuzzi tub and glass shower overlooking the pond, terraced gardens, and amazing mountain views of sugarbush and camel's hump, a large 2nd floor kids suite that sleeps 6 (with wii/tv/dvd area), two additional second floor bedrooms (queen and full), and a bedroom/office with sleeper sofa (with tv/dvd). The home also includes a dining room that comfortably seats 8, living room with built in day bed and fireplace, family room with fireplace and large flat screen tv (cable, blurry dvd player, sound system), second floor loft with mountain views, second floor family/reading room, kitchen (with natural cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, 2 counters stools, dishwasher, range, 2 microwaves), and finished basement (with tv, xbox, and basketball shoot).
I coach a high school soccer team, and every summer we take our returning varsity players on a bonding trip. It's not easy finding a place that sleeps 12 or 13 -- but this was perfect. The house is warm and welcoming, with lots of different areas to interact but spacious enough so that it never felt crowded. There is every amenity imaginable, in a gorgeous setting. The cookout in the backyard overlooking the mountains was a real highlight. We kayaked on the nearby reservoir, did a trail run on a nearby mountain, enjoyed the very friendly town of Waterbury, and went to Burlington and Colchester for a ropes course and paintball. We could not have asked for more, and the owners are very eager to work with. To mix sports metaphors, our soccer team hit a grand slam with this property.

Our family had a great time staying in this house. Everything was clean and neat. Bedrooms were comfortable and house was spacious. Waterbury is very convenient to Stowe, Burlington and Montpelier. The grounds were well landscaped and the multiple decks and seating areas gave us lots of options for morning coffee and evening wine time. We plan on renting again next year.

Families with Teenagers,
A vacation home I would visit again and have, in fact, already arranged to do so. I was so grateful to have stumbled upon this listing- and renting the property for my vacation was the best decision I ever made. The locale is indescribably picturesque with a breathtaking view of the Green Mountains off the back flagstone patio during the day and a sky full of stars at night. The house is clearly a labor of love with its fine wood finishing, radiantly heated stone flooring, and beautiful furnishings with near floor to ceiling windows (plus check out the LED starlight over the master bathroom’s Jacuzzi waterfall tub!). Large enough for a family yet with numerous peaceful nooks to find quiet and relaxation curled up with a good book. While we did not find the need to often leave the house and the gorgeous grounds (short hiking trails are cut into the surrounding forest, we took fantastically scenic walks along the mountain road byways and lazily canoed on the small pond sits on the property and caught tadpoles), when we did seek other activities Stowe, Waterbury, Burlington and Shelburne were all within a stone’s throw (no more than 30-40 minutes) with their mountains (Mt. Mansfield's trail head is less than 30 minutes away) museums, farms, hiking/biking/walking trails, reservoirs (kayaking on the Waterbury Reservoir is a must- as well as the History Hike around it), ski slopes (we'll be taking advantage of this when we next visit in the winter), artisans, concert halls, theaters, galleries and restaurants (Hen of the Wood, a gastronomic delight, is literally five minutes down the mountain from the house- not to mention Ben and Jerry’s is around the corner). The best bang for your buck if you want to stay in the area. I have only amazing things to say and incredible memories about my experience! I can't wait to visit the area and that home again! I wish it were for sale!
