SPECTACULAR VILLA OFFERS COMPLETE TRANQUILITY IN NATURAL RESERVE AREA

Umbertide Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Just Renovated 5 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, Massive Private Pool, Gorgeous Views

Casale Napoletano is a 5 bedroom farmhouse located in a natural reserve area in the Umbrian foothills of the Italian countryside. Situated in the province of Perugia, the villa is very close to Tuscany and you can reach cities such as Florence, Cortona, San Gimignano, Chianti, Montepulciano as well as all of the splendid hill towns of Umbria including Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Spoleto, Deruta, Gubbio, Montefalco, Orvieto, local wineries, monasteries, etc...

The property has an exceptionally large private pool and 15m long (50 feet) pergola which overlooks the rolling countryside. Perfect for long sunny days or a dip with cocktails after a day of touring the surroundings.

A small country road winds its way up from the valley to San Benedetto where an even smaller, private, ½ km (about ¼ mile) lane leads to this wonderful retreat where life is slow and uncomplicated. Surrounded by olive trees, Casale Napoletano has been transformed in 2013 into an immaculate and beautiful property. The house offers complete privacy, nestled in the surrounding beauty of Umbria with no other residences in sight. It is likely that the closest you will get to stress is choosing which terrace on which to sip a glass of local wine while sampling locally made cheeses, meat, olive oils and tartuffi (truffles) with fresh, crusty bread. While Casale Napoletano’s situation is exceptionally private, it is only a 5 minute drive to the town of Umbertide which has several supermarkets, restaurants, trattorias, cafes, a small Old Town and a market every Wednesday.

The home has been completely and beautifully renovated from top to bottom in 2013 using only local materials and traditional Umbrian craftsmanship. It has all new appliances, including dishwasher an American style refrigerator, italian-made oven with 5 gas burners, new bathrooms including a deep free-standing Philippe Starck bathtub, custom made glass showers, large hot water heater, new plumbing, windows and screens, brand new mattresses, pillows and linens. You are assured of a comfortable stay. Perfect for families and friends! The outdoor brick oven is great for making pizzas and meats.

If interested, the owner can help arrange cooks, cooking lessons in English or Italian, wine tasting at the house, delicious prepared local meals delivered to you upon arrival or during your stay, or just about anything else you may want.

Guestbook comments from the owner
We recently had the good fortune to stay at Casale Napoletano with our extended family. It could not have been more perfect! The villa has been lovingly restored to compliment the natural surroundings of olive trees and hillsides. We arrived to find the house exceptionally clean with fresh linens and a welcome basket. It is a very well appointed villa with all of the amenities we needed including a well stocked, modern kitchen to prepare everything from a simple antipasti to more intricate meals, wifi, tv/DVD for the children, new laundry facilities, games and books. There was plenty of space for the entire family between the many terraces with different views, multiple indoor sitting areas, fields in which to roam and, of course, the large private pool with its stunning pergola offering shade in the afternoon. There are many lovely villages nearby which gave us the opportunity to easily sightsee with a large group of people and return to the villa for a dip in the pool, recount our day's adventures over a card game and cocktails on one of the terraces, or make a delicious meal in the outdoor pizza oven. All in all, an incredible experience we will all remember fondly for years to come. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Authenicity, tranquility and peace without isolation. Magnificent views, wonderful people, food and very close to so much history and antiquity. This is truly Italy. Spectacularly beautiful location that easily absorbs tourists without being overtaken by them.

The lifestyle, the tranquility of the location, the beautiful setting, love of Italy and family heritage. Nearby farmer and his wife can prepare delicious and authentic Umbrian food for you that is all grown locally including oils, pastas, meats, vegetables and truffles.

AMAZING HOUSE IN A BEAUTIFUL GREEN AREA OF UMBRIA

  • 5 of 5
We can't over emphasize what an amazing time we had at Casale Napoletano.
The photos don't do justice to the beauty of the house. In person it is ever more stunning.
The owner was extremely gracious and even arranged for additional amenties for me and my wife, while the house was in a very neat condition and everything was perfectly working.
We are looking forward for our next trip to spend more time here

NOT ALL RENTALS ARE CREATED EQUALLY...

As you can see from the photos the location, setting and the home itself is beautiful, very clean and well appointed. So I will talk more about things that impressed me, and to be honest surprised me. The renovations made to the home bring an old world style farmhouse completely up to date, right down to the soaking tub (this was heaven!), all while preserving the integrity and charm of the home and its surroundings. We have rented elsewhere throughout Europe and generally speaking we have always had to adapt to things like shorter, colder showers, smaller kitchens and sparse blankets and pillows. You need not worry about any of these things at this home. As I mentioned, it has been renovated and the bathrooms are fabulously modern with beautiful showers, tremedous water pressure and blow dryers! The hot water heater in the house is bigger than the one we have in our home in the States. There are plenty of new towels, linens, blankets and pillows. The mattresses are new, clean and comfortable, though firm. And like the rest of the house, the kitchen is more than adequetly stocked with dishware, glasses, utensils, cooking tools, pots, pans and a Nespresso machine (we brought our own capsules, as this may be the only thing that isn't included). The kitchen is one of the main reasons I fell in love with the rental online in the first place... I love to cook and this kitchen had everything I needed, plus it is well equipped with professional grade appliances. However if you are like us you will also take advantage of the outdoor wood burning oven which was another big selling point for us. It was a bit of a production, but worth it! Luckily, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly and left directions for everything we needed from the wood burning oven to sightseeing and getting around. We were in Umbertide for a week and from there we were able to travel to various cities (Rome and Florence) as well as small villages (like Assisi, Spello and Cortona), but each day we looked forward to heading back to the house for a relaxing glass of wine overlooking the hills watching the sunset. If there is one negative, (not really a negative) there is TV and DVD player (and DVDs), but no cable. We have two children and I wondered if this would be a problem, but we didn't miss it at all. Plus, the house has wifi so if you wish you can stream things on your iPad or laptop. We are already planning our next visit here when it is warmer so we can enjoy the beautiful pool!

SPECTACULAR VILLA

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Casole Napoletano was outstanding in every way. The house was immaculate, well-furnished, nicely decorated and equipped with many amenities. The house is very spacious and a perfect setting for a large family or group. The view from the deck and patios was beautiful especially for sunrise and sunset. Outdoor dining was a great experience because of the large brick oven and the peaceful setting overlooking the lush green hills. The house is in an ideal location for day trips to Assisi, Sienna, Florence, Perugia and other scenic parts of Umbria. The house owner was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our requests. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends.

FABULOUS

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 11, which included 3 generations, arrived in July at Casale Napoletano for a long awaited vacation and were pleased beyond our expectations. The farmhouse is very beautiful and is tucked into the hills of San Benedetto surrounded by olive, fig and cherry trees. The view is positively stunning. Casale Napoletano is completely renovated from top to bottom. The kitchen is modern, beautiful and fully stocked, each bathroom is new and custom, the public rooms and private bedrooms are comfortable, generous in size and lovely. Throughout the home there is custom cabinetry, antique armoires and craftsmanship rarely seen anymore. The pool area is glorious and has a large Pergola for shade and is where we spent most of our day. We felt like we were at a luxurious resort minus the noise and crowds. We could swim and enjoy ourselves in a completely private setting. On the days we could pull ourselves away from the pool and the house our family ventured to the surrounding Umbrian hill towns, one more beautiful than the next. The Tuscany region is also very close, only 20 minutes by car. A two hour drive would take us to Florence or to Rome and a day filled with museums, art, and ancient architecture. The location of this house is convenient to everywhere and everything! Evenings at Casale Napoletano consisted of leisurely dinners prepared in the modern kitchen or in the outdoor oven. The outdoor oven was an experience and an adventure into cooking that has been done for centuries in this region. Our meals prepared in the brick oven were delicious and such fun. Our meals would then be enjoyed, with bottles of local wine, on a patio of our choice overlooking the Umbrian countryside. Every evening we would remind ourselves how lucky we were to be in this perfect setting and in this perfect house. The memories of this vacation will last forever, but we are hoping to return to create many more.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!

  • 5 of 5
Have had some great stays here! Weather always good and the pool is an excellent size. The house is spread over three floors- so everyone has their privacy. Lots of different terraces to chill on- every one with a different view. House has everything you need- there's nothing you really need to take- apart from your sun-tan lotion! You can get to some gorgeous hill-top towns and villages in every direction, and we drove to Rome a couple of times- which is an easy journey. Complete seclusion.

STUNNING HOUSE AND VIEWS! WE'LL BE BACK!

Stunning house and views! We'll be back!
  • 5 of 5
We arrived at Casale Napoletano on a beautiful July day. The house was even more beautiful than the description and the views were spectacular from the several verandas the home offers. The home is located at the top of a winding hill in San Benedetto in Umbertide. It's surrounded by olive and fig trees with unobstructed views of rolling hills of wheat, sunflowers, and truffle groves.
The house is newly renovated with 5 bedrooms that can easily sleep 10-12. The bathrooms are modern and pristine. The kitchen has professional appliances and a gorgeous island that seats 10! The house has custom touches throughout, from rustic wrought iron doorways, to working shutters and screens. Not many homes, if any, have screens to keep out the bugs in Italy...this one does! There's a dishwasher, washer and dryer, wifi, TV and dvd player.
The property also has a spectacular pool. It is very peaceful and relaxing! We spent almost everyday at the pool and still took day trips to towns like Deruta, Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Arezzo, and Cortona. The home is located just under 2 hours away from the glorious cities of Rome and Florence which we also toured on this trip! If you feel like eating out, Umbertide has several wonderful restaurants just minutes away from the house. But if you prefer to eat in and take in all the breathtaking views Casual Napoletano has to offer, you can shop at one of two supermarkets in town and cook at home inside the fabulous kitchen or outside in the brick oven. The town also has a pharmacy, bike shop, and other shops for your convenience.
The owner speaks several languages as english as his first, but he's fluent in Italian and he's very knowledgeable and helpful with questions. He is friendly with many locals, and we had a delicious homemade gnocchi and truffle dinner at the house made by a local farmer and his wife.
We highly recommend this property and are already planning our next trip to Casale Napoletano!
