I was born in the Flathead Valley and have spent much of my life enjoying the area. I will be happy to make suggestions to new travelers to the area on things to do and see. My goal is to make your stay enjoyable and hopefully see you back soon.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 1965
We had a great time staying here at our own private hideaway. The generous deck with views of Flathead Lake was our favorite feature. The colorful flower baskets made it even more inviting… We also enjoyed the whimsical decoration and big screen tv… We would love to come back sometime soon…
We spent 4 nights at the Hilltop Hideaway and had a very enjoyable time there. The place was exactly as it was represented, very clean and well maintained. The deck is lovely and a great place to eat supper. The owner has obviously gone out of his way to add lots of home touches to the place - I would definitely stay here again!
Hilltop Hideaway is truly a gem when it comes to self-catering accommodation. I have stayed at many properties in countries around the world, many of which were luxurious. However, Hilltop Hideaway surpassed any I have stayed in. Not only did it have every facility, it did it with a wonderful, traditional, thoughtful - and even humerous - style. So many wonderful items make this place truly unique. The deck is absolutely gorgeous, so private and pretty. Add to this the fact that there were so many extras that are usually not present in a rental property: plenty of linens, dishwasher powder, laundry detergent, coffee beans, olive oil, herbs and spices ... all those things that you usually have to buy and then waste. The property was immaculate, and the photos could not possible do it justice - it is far better in real life. The owner was always available to answer any queries, and was in fact the most conscientous owner I have ever encountered in all my years of renting. Seriously. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.
We experienced two weeks of pure relaxation in an environment only Montana can offer. The accommodations were first rate, in fact every thing seemed brand new or at least exceptionally maintained. Would do this again in a New York minute!
Great place for a quiet get away. The deck is a nice place to sit during the day and absorb the vistas. Night is a good time to watch for falling stars and satellites passing overhead. Close to Glacier Nat'l Park. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and the king sized bed offers a good night's sleep. The local micro-brewery in Lakeside is a fun place with good food.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hilltop Hideaway! The ambiance and setting was perfect, it was equipped with everything we needed and you just can't be the location. We also brought our dogs along and it was the perfect place for them, plenty of space outside to run and play and a secured deck so you can leave them outside while you are away. Everything was perfect and the hospitality of the owner was spectacular. We cannot recommend this place enough!
What a wonderful place! Beautiful view, fenced tiered deck, fully stocked kitchen (even for a couple of foodies like us), and comfy bed and furniture. Two big flat screen televisions with blue ray disc player, and music system with outdoor speakers for that late night dance under the stars.
Dan was wonderful about communicating all the details we would need and was super gracious. Believe everything about this charming carriage house, it's all true! We will definitely return as soon as our schedule allows.
