Eugene House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This quaint and charming home is centrally located ,in the heart of downtown Eugene, Oregon. It is only a brisk walk from the eclectic Whitaker / Blair Boulevard neighborhood with its many ethnic restaurants and grocers, gourmet dining establishments and great music venues. One of Eugene's best bakeries is only a few steps away! Deliscious! The Pizza Research Institute and Papa's Soul Food Kitchen are extraordinary and Sam Bond's Garage is a popular music venue for local, and not so local, artists. Just down the way a bit is the Hult Center where touring companies bring theatre and music to Eugene and where the notable Eugene Symphony, the Mozart Players and the Bach Festival perform to the delight of local and international audiences. Setting: The Madison Guest House greets the visitor with an inviting country garden displaying a variety of seasonal flowers and shrubs that soften the urban landscape and lend a tranquil air to the cottage. Tucked behind a cedar enclosure you will find a quiet oasis with space for relaxing, reading or meditating as well as for casual dining...

Beer: Micro brews are another part of the culture and economy of the area that has seen steady growth in popularity. Home brewing is also well supported in the region and worth investigating. Several establishments in Eugene specialize in local brews and offer tastings periodically.. Some of these are within walking distance of this property..

Throughout Oregon wine has become a prominent part of the culture as well as the economy. Within Eugene and the Willamette Valley are some of the best wines produced domestically. Wine tasting tours , barrel tours, are offered at various times during the season. Tasting rooms are located throughout Eugene and are easily accessible by foot, pedal, bus or car.Micro brews are another part of the culture and economy of the area that has seen steady growth in popularity. ADORABLE HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
We loved staying here-- convenient location, really comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen, stable wifi, just the right amount of space, and the booking process was super easy. We would love to come back next time we are in Eugene.

LOVED OUR LITTLE HOUSE.

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for 5 days while we were up visiting our boys at U of O. We loved, loved, loved our little place. It had everything we needed to make a wonderful Easter dinner. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need (except an ice cream scoop which we bought and donated to the house) The bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. Our boys really enjoyed coming over from campus and hanging out in the living room and watching basketball. The bathrooms were stocked with everything we could need. We really enjoyed our stay and we would defintley stay there again

COZY, WELL-EQUIPPED HOUSE IN HEART OF WHITEAKER

  • 5 of 5
I want to say I consider a 4 star rating a very good one and generally bestow 5 stars on absolute perfection. The house was just about perfect except it is near a busy street and the wireless internet connection was weak. That being said, everything else was great! The house is an incredible bargain at the price, and the location is very convenient. The kitchen was the best equipped we've ever found, with cloth napkins, real stemware, even a salad spinner, and coffee by the bean or in the pods with a Keurig maker. It had lots of space, and every amenity you could ask for. When my husband needed to iron a shirt, he found an iron and board in the basement. We would definitely rent the house again.

BEAUTIFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for a week in early March and loved everything about this beautiful vacation rental...In fact, I wish I had a house just like it back in our own hometown! We've stayed in rentals all around the world (Italy, Spain, England, Mexico, NYC) and this is right up there with the best. As many have said, the location is great for walking (Sweet Life Bakery, a Eugene icon, is just down the alley! and The Pour House Deli - great Reuben sandwich- is just across from Sweet Life.) The charming 1920's character of the house (high ceilings, polished fir floors, mullioned windows, clawfoot tub in one bathroom) has been retained while adding in all the modern conveniences (dishwasher, microwave, wifi, dvd players, etc.) From the street, the house looks small and cozy but it lives very large - all three bedrooms with comfy beds, fluffy pillows, large closets, high-end decorating touches, extra little quiet nooks and crannies around. Kitchen is well-stocked, plenty of dishes for renters plus their guests; bathrooms are the same - abundant luxurious towels, hairdryer, soaps, shampoos, plus an easy-to-use laundry area w/ ironing board all set up. Everything has been thought out and made ready for you, including a sweet garden both front and back (we had 68-degree weather and sat out on the lovely patio.) Communication with the owner is easy and efficient - Carolyn is conscientious and works to make sure everything is just right for your stay. Quick tourist recommendations: El Trenecito in Springfield for authentic Mexican food, Beppe & Gianni's Trattoria for the best Italian food, and Armitage County Park for a picnic and walk near the Mackenzie River. Our 6-year old grandson stayed with us for a couple of nights at "the little blue house with the yellow door, " and he loved playing at Monroe Park (just 2 blocks away.) This will be our home away from home when visiting Eugene. We hope to return often.

A TRUE DIAMOND

  • 5 of 5
This little blue house was a real gem which I was very lucky to be able to stay at during a five day trip to Eugene to pick up my bike. It just happened to be during a cold pre-Christmas snow fall. To be able to walk there easily from the downtown bus depot (Eugene station) and find it cozy and warm, with the radio playing gently, while the snow was piled up outside, was very comforting. That it has three beds and two baths with a great kitchen and comfortable lounges fitted into a compact footprint is amazing and the décor is first rate too. Everything was in good condition and showed the owner's attention to detail, and this made it an enjoyable place to stay. The other reviews were very accurate and reflect the quality of this property. The owner, Carolyn, was very responsive and helpful. The proximity to downtown is great - you can walk to many places like the Hult Center or take the helpful LTD bus system or ride the many city bike trails as I did. The bakery (Sweet Life) which is down the alley behind the house was another fabulous find. I would love to come back and spend more time at this great little house. Thanks for sharing it.

FUN WEEKEND!

  • 5 of 5
I stayed in this adorable house with my 10 & 11 year old sons for a weekend. The house has so much charm and has been maintained / modernised excellently. We found everything we needed in the house -- kitchen gadgets, comfortable beds, games, etc. The location really is fantastic and we hardly had to move the car at all. Downtown is within walking distance and we took advantage of the Saturday Market (which I used to visit in the 90's when I was at the U of O), walking along the river and up the Butte. There is more than enough shopping in the area to fill the cupboards. We hit the Pizza Research Institute one evening and stopped by the Ninkasi Brewery afterwards to have a look around -- and our final breakfast was around the corner at the bakery. Loved that they had GF baked goods, as well. With all the adventuring we did in 3 short days, it was always great to come home in the evening and relax in the living room or at the dining room table with a round of games. I will definitely check availability in 2 years before my next trip *home*. Oh, my boys loved the house, too, particularly the bright yellow door! Thanks again!
