Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 17 and 12 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We've also been able to surf every month of the year! Although I'd recommend a wet suit Fall/Winter/Spring. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation

Actually the vacation home is Steve's first home. He spent much of his free time repairing/refinishing. It is furnished with antiques handed down in our family that Steve refinished. We were unable to part with it when we moved to our new home less than a mile away so we turned it into a vacation rental home in 2010.

You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)!

You are less than one mile away for the farthest inland port in the world.

You are less than one mile away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port.

Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on a island!

Even though you are less than one mile away from downtown Duluth you'll feel safe in your neighborhood. Steve lived in this house for several years and feels that it is safe (never locked his doors) with great neighbors (no turnover for at least 10 years). It is a great relaxing environment which we hope the claw foot tub and sauna promote.

If you want shopping, coffee, antiques they are less than 1 mile down the road over the Aerial Lift Bridge. You can also make the walk on sandy beach.

Made a last minute booking with Heather for a week-long stay in Duluth. Plenty of room for the whole family, unbeatable location, attentive and friendly hosts. Kitchen was great for having sit down family dinners- can't get that kind of time together staying in a hotel. Rest of home was beautifully furnished, bedrooms were warm and comfortable. A home away from home. Was wonderful to walk 30 seconds to the beach to watch the large ore boats come and go under the lift bridge and loved the quick walk to canal park and downtown Duluth. We are so happy with our decision to stay at Heather and Steve's place. Will definitely try to book again for next stay.

We loved the old features of the house but it was updated beautifully. We enjoyed sitting outside gabbing and listening to the waves. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Heather was a great help to us! We enjoyed the beach, ship watching and Hawk Ridge! A great girls get-a-way!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay on park point. Heather was wonderful to work with and very helpful. The house was immaculate and just as advertised. The sauna was an awesome treat and had easy to use instructions. We all would stay here again and have already recommened it to others. Thank You Heather!

We rented this last weekend and really enjoyed it. We had 3 couples and 3 small children and everyone one of us enjoyed it for different reasons. Location was great! Near the beach, aquarium, downtown restaurants, etc. Heather was so helpful and detailed about everything. You're always a little nervous renting something and not knowing what you're going to get but she definitely put me at ease and we were beyond happy with the results. I would definitely consider staying here again.

This cottage is charming! Warm and inviting with lots of homey touches. Comfortable beds and lots of deck space for family gatherings. The addition of recreation equipment; bikes, canoes, ping pong tables assured that everyone had a chance to enjoy the location. Access to the lake shore allowing for lots of walks and "treasure hunts" was also great. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Heather and Steve for sharing!
