Minnesota Beach House is located on Park Point which is surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Superior and the St Louis River. These bodies of water are home to kayakers, canoeists, boaters, fisherman, kite surfers, wind surfers, surfers, and swimmers. If you don't participate in these activities you'll surely enjoy their antics on the water! The property has direct access to six miles of sandy beach on Lake Superior where you'll see joggers, walkers, sunbathers, sand castle builders and beach fires. Only 0.7 miles (1.1 km) from the Minnesota Beach House is the historic Aerial Lift Bridge which connects Park Point to Canal Park and all it has to offer.

About Heather Pitschka

Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 17 and 12 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We've also been able to surf every month of the year! Although I'd recommend a wet suit Fall/Winter/Spring. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation

Why Heather Pitschka chose Duluth

Actually the vacation home is Steve's first home. He spent much of his free time repairing/refinishing. It is furnished with antiques handed down in our family that Steve refinished. We were unable to part with it when we moved to our new home less than a mile away so we turned it into a vacation rental home in 2010.

What makes this cottage unique

You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)!

You are less than one mile away for the farthest inland port in the world.

You are less than one mile away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port.

Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on a island!

Even though you are less than one mile away from downtown Duluth you'll feel safe in your neighborhood. Steve lived in this house for several years and feels that it is safe (never locked his doors) with great neighbors (no turnover for at least 10 years). It is a great relaxing environment which we hope the claw foot tub and sauna promote.

If you want shopping, coffee, antiques they are less than 1 mile down the road over the Aerial Lift Bridge. You can also make the walk on sandy beach.

The Minnesota Beach House is located on Park Point which is essentially an island approximately six miles in length. It is connected to Duluth by our historic lift bridge which is over 100 years old. The Beach House has direct access to 6 miles of sandy beach on Lake Superior the largest freshwater lake in the world (by surface area). Duluth is a very active Port City and each year fills its calendar with activities such as Art/Music Festivals, Opera, Performing Arts, Duluth Air Festival, Grandma's Marathon etc. (Google-Visit Duluth). We our surrounding by City/State Parks and are just a couple hours south of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

Lovely home, great location

This beach home is just a short mile from downtown Duluth and over a small bluff from beautiful Lake Superior. It was quite chilly when we visited last weekend but would love to go back in the summer.
The house is a perfect size with 3 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, main floor bedroom and bathroom with cute kitchen, dining, and living space and laundry, fun room and sauna in the basement. The entry room when you walk in had a strange odor so we always kept that door shut to block it from the rest of the house but that is the only issue we came across.
Heather was great to communicate with and eager to help in any way.
Myself and my family had a very nice stay. Thanks, Heather!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in Mid March. The accommodations were as advertised, very clean and pleasant. Beach access is immediately over the sand bluff with wonderful beach walking. The view from upstairs is fantastic. We had several ping pong matches and enjoyed the wonderful sauna.

Excellent location!

The owners were available and very cordial. I would recommend this vacation home.

Great People, Great House, Great Location

The property owner Heather was incredibly nice and easy to work with and the house worked out great for us. The location is hard to beat, 5 minute drive into town and there is a bus stop at the corner if you don't want to drive. Also, It's a short walk out the back door over a small sand dune to the shore of lake superior. I would definitely stay here again next time i'm in Duluth.

Close to Canal Park (we biked with young kids), and the beach just over the sand dunes is amazing! House is clean and cozy. Heather is very thoughtful and easy to work with! We will stay again!

Great beach getaway

Had a fabulous time at the beach house in August 2012. The house was spotless, quaint, and more than enough room for our family of 5. Perfectly located less than a mile from Canal Park - we brought our bikes and had a great time exploring. We were blessed with great weather, and our kids spent many hours playing/exploring/building on the beach. Heather was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband said the best part was watching "Point Break" on vintage VHS. Would definitely stay again!
