Overview

Sonoma House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedroom, 1 bath, sleeps 4 adults

Fully renovated in 2010 and situated on a vineyard on Sonoma's desirable east-side, enjoy the views and privacy of our 2 bedroom home. The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a Viking range, double dishwasher drawers, and large refrigerator. Additional features include a farmhouse sink, and custom-built cabinets. The lovely kitchen opens out onto the backyard, which is surrounded on 2 sides by acres of vineyards.

Enjoy total privacy as you unwind from a day of wine tasting, sight-seeing or shopping at the historic Sonoma Plaza. Relax on the porch swing where you can view people bicycling and walking our tree-lined street, or put your feet up and enjoy a glass of wine as you take in the unobstructed vineyard views from the back yard.

There are amazing restaurants in Sonoma, however you can also prepare meals in the fully-stocked, gourmet kitchen. It features a Viking range, high-end cookware, and Henckels knives, in addition to most anything you may need to whip up a lovely bite to eat!

Each bedroom has a Queen size bed with a luxurious memory foam mattress, cotton sheets, and duvet covers for ultimate comfort. The bathroom enjoys 2 sinks, a shower with white subway tiles and all new fixtures from Restoration Hardware.

We are firm believers in Green Building and we used sustainable materials such as FSC lumber, non-formaldeyde insulation, and reclaimed materials where we could. We truly hope you enjoy your stay here!

About Julie Kidson

I live in the East Bay Area and have always loved Sonoma. I purchased the home in 2008 and renovated it in 2010. It is an amazing place where we can spend a relaxing weekend away from the fast pace of city life.

Amazing rental experience

  • 5 of 5

This is truly an amazing and unique rental. How better to immerse yourself in your Sonoma visit than by staying at a rental with a vineyard in your backyard! I really can't say enough about the views in the backyard. They are almost dreamlike.

It was the perfect location in a beautiful country setting yet only 5 mins from Sonoma plaza. The house is better than a luxury hotel. Gourmet chef's kitchen, high quality linens, bathroom, and incredibly comfortable beds which are very important after a long day of sightseeing!

If you're trying to decide between this house and anywhere else in Sonoma/Napa Valley, trust me, pick this house! You won't regret it.

Perfect relaxing and romantic retreat

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was exactly what we were looking for - a relaxing, romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. I was pleasantly surprised by how rural the area of this cottage is, yet with conveniences super close-by.

The cottage itself was appointed with everything we needed and more. Some of the stand-out amenities in the kitchen were a wine chiller, plentiful cutting boards and knives for all of the cheese and bread, and salad spinner. The bathroom was stocked with all sorts of various shampoos, conditioners, soaps, and lotions, in addition to a hair blow dryer. The water pressure in the shower was great, too.

Outside, the patio had various chairs and lounging options so we were always comfortable. We learned how to play bocce ball and really enjoyed it!

The location was a perfect balance of secluded privacy with a 5-10 min drive in to the square for a sandwich (Sonoma Cheese Factory), coffee (Dutch Bros), or groceries (Sonoma Market). In addition to the local wineries, we also explored further out such as Armstrong Redwoods State Park, Goat Rock, and Bodega Bay.

I highly recommend this cottage for your Sonoma visit!

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This place was a perfect choice. My husband and I stayed here last week and we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our Sonoma vacation. The house and location are amazing - beautiful backyard and view, great space, cozy feel, close to downtown Sonoma. Immediately we felt right at home here. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful and romantic vacation. It was just the two of us, but we could have easily had two more people with us and still felt like there was plenty of room. Before I go on a lengthy review, below are just a few of the advantages of staying here:

- Close proximity to downtown Sonoma (in my opinion, one of the best downtown areas in the greater Napa/Sonoma area).

- AMAZING view. Morning coffee looking out onto a bocce court, beautiful gardens, vineyards and mountains was just about as picturesque as you can get.

- Great accommodations with everything you need in a house.

- Location in general was perfect for traveling throughout the Sonoma/Napa area.

We spent most of our days driving around the Napa/Sonoma area winetasting and made it home by about 6pm each night. This worked out perfectly because we could enjoy some delicious wine and make dinner in the comfort of "our own home". I honestly can't imagine staying in a hotel considering how easy and convenient it was having a whole house at our disposal. The house's location itself is great too. The views (as mentioned) are incredible...vineyards, greenery, mountains...amazing. And less than 2 miles from downtown Sonoma you can't beat the convenience. We didn't walk to downtown much because we were often driving around but it is definitely a doable walk. After visiting many of the Napa/Sonoma areas I will say that Sonoma is my favorite downtown area of all. So comfortable and quaint, and it has a wide array of restaurants, shops, wineries and bars. The Sonoma Marketplace is a great place to stop for groceries - fresh bread, huge cheese selection, nice meat/seafood department and a decent local wine selection. As much as we loved the restaurants downtown, it made our trip being able to stop by and pick up the perfect wine-pairing food for dinner back at the house. Lastly, but definitely not least, Julie is great. Because everything went smoothly we really didn't need to reach out to Julie much. But she made sure to check in with us via email the first day to make sure we had what we needed and couldn't have been nicer! Overall, definitely a 5/5.

The Perfect Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect Sonoma home to rent. It is charming, peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing. The cottage itself is tastefully decorated with a great lay out. It was perfect for our family of four (two adults, two young children). The true gem of this house is the backyard. The view of the vineyard, the lavender bushes, and fresh herbs growing next to the Bacci ball court as well as the lounging area and dining areas make it a perfect setting. While we had a quiet time enjoying our meals outdoors at the big wood table with our little ones, I can imagine it a wonderful setting to dine with friends, sharing a bottle of wine. You feel like a local in this location and only a short drive to the town square. Julie was fantastic to work with and I love how much thought and care she and her family have put into the home & landscaping. They truly had a vision creating this home and we felt very lucky to stay here. We would love to come back!

Truly Wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about how fabulous this home is! We were there for a week in November and could not have found a more perfect place to stay! It is close to downtown, wineries and restaurants. It feels very private and the landscape is just gorgeous! The inside of the home is beautiful but my favorite part was sitting in the backyard. So peaceful, so perfect! I can't wait to visit again!! And Julie was wonderful to deal with!

This cottage is a real gem. The location is ideal, close to town but very private surrounded by a vineyard. The renovation is tasteful and modern in all the important ways, kitchen is wonderful, we cooked Thanksgiving dinner and found everything we needed. We found it to be peaceful and relaxing, the beds are very comfortable, good linens overall a delightful experience. Owner was responsive and accommodating. Would readily recommend to friends and family.
