Spring Creek Cabin at the Bar X River Ranch is just off I-90 located 65 miles west of Billings and 65 miles east of Bozeman on the south side of the Yellowstone River - one of the last free flowing rivers in the United States. The cozy cabin is nestled in an area that for forty years was a bird sanctuary for wild waterfowl. The cabin has three bedrooms - two rooms each with a queen-size bed and a third room with two twin beds. The cabin includes a well-equipped kitchen, spacious living room/dinning room area and a washer and dryer. Dish Network Satellite TV and free Wi-Fi provided.
Come and enjoy bird watching and observe ducks, geese, pheasants, pelicans, Sand Hill Cranes and many other species. Take a hike or sit in an observation blind as the sun goes down the game come out. You will quickly notice the pace of life slows down as your days go by at Spring Creek Cabin.
Throw a line in the stocked catch-and-release pond just outside your cabin door. Have a campfire in the fire pit and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Enjoy walks around the wetlands and by the river.
The grounds have some of the finest fishing on the Yellowstone River including three miles of private river frontage. Fishing from the shore or floating the river can produce catches of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Cutthroat Trout. Boats may be rented in Big Timber, just 15 miles to the west. A float from Big Timber to Reed Point is a delightful ride with views of the Crazy and Absarokee Mountains. A great way to fish or just enjoy a day on the river.

The Bar X River Ranch is a central location for Yellowstone Park, Battle of the Little Big Horn, Cody Museum, Pompey’s Pillar, Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman and much more including scenic Bridger Creek, Boulder River Canyon, Deer Creek and Paradise Valley just to name a few.
No smoking is allowed in the cabin.
In Big Timber - just 15 miles away - you will find a grocery store, hardware store, sporting goods stores, gift shops, quilt shop, clothing stores, medical clinic, bowling alley and art galleries. There is also a very good public golf course and The Grand – a classic western bar and five-star restaurant.
