The Gardens is now offering 4 spacious one bedroom, fully furnished, upscale apartments for those wanting more than a just room with a bed while vacationing on Utila. Each of the units is located on a paved road within a privacy fence with security lighting for your convenience. Each of these units boasts two decks, one of which is privacy partitioned. The Gardens is located just up and off of the Main Street, close enough to be “in town”, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of Main Street to allow for peace and privacy. These apartments are designed in a home style setting with all of the amenities you’d expect. Full sized refrigerators, glass panel stoves with ovens, built in overhead microwave units, stainless sinks with full time hot water, wall mounted televisions complete with cable, tiled showers with hot water and, of course, Wifi for those that need to stay connected to the world at large. These apartments are self catering with all linens, cookware, and tableware. All you need to bring with you is your clothes, groceries and a toothbrush to be right at home!
Now part of Tony and Jo’s Laguna Vista, (see VBRO listing 229936!) you can expect more than to just be pointed to your room. We strive to make your vacation as effortless as possible. Standard services include arranging pick up and return to your point of origin on the island, and provisioning and stocking prior to your arrival, if requested. Massage is available within one minute’s walk for those wishing to indulge, and yoga mats are available upon request.
For those wanting intimate privacy, we have constructed an upscale, stand alone Cottage located within the privacy fence that surround the property. This Cottage is ideal for a couple wanting to get away from it all, yet have all of the amenities needed to feel pampered and at home. Custom cabinets in the kitchen were designed with ergonomics in mind making the kitchen immanently usable. The bathroom boasts a full height shower with ceramic tile with marble inserts and a glass block divider. The pedestal sink with wall mounted mirror/vanity optimizes good usage of space and and glass block recessed into the wall provides ambient light. The Cottage has quickly become a favorite with guests of The Gardens!
For those wanting to enjoy the diving that Utila is famous for we can provide a private dive boat with personal professional Dive Masters/IDC Instructors, or special arrangements can be made with select qualified local dive shops to include you in their groups. Certification in Diving is available from Beginner all the way to Advanced using Drager™ Dolphin Rebreathers and Closed Circuit Units. Diving alternatives such as horseback riding, boating, sailing charters, 4 wheel excursions or guided nature walks are only a request away.
The Gardens has access to the best in Catch and Release Deep Sea Fishing Charters, having custom boats on call with Captains who know and fish the Bay Islands.

About The Owner
We are well known on the island, having been retired here for years. We have somehow become known as 'Tony & Jo' as if it was one name! Between having properties that we rent and being involved in the community at large we still find time for our 40' sailboat, traveling to other countries, visiting our children and living the lifestyle that is Utila. We ended up in the hospitality industry by accident and have enjoyed it ever since we got our first hotel on the island. Not knowing anything at all about the service industry we simply decided to use a plan based on what WE liked about some of the places we've stayed in around the world. So far, it seems to be working rather well!

Why The Owner chose Utila
Utila is where we live and we're not going anywhere, so... when this building came on the market a mere 125 paces from our home it seemed like it was ready made for us. We purchased the building and started a light remodel immediately, including the renovation of one building into The Cottage that we designed around an intimate place that we would like to stay in!
What makes this apartment unique
The Gardens is in a very quiet setting with a 6 foot privacy fence around the entire property. Security lighting is 24 hours for the comfort of our guests and the private deck attached is just that; private. Being close to 'downtown', but not in it means the five minute walk to Main Street is just enough to keep the hustle and bustle of traffic, noise, and congestion at bay. The Gardens is not just a box with a bed in one corner, it is a home away from home!
