family dropping off son to college in NY

I enjoyed my stay at the brownstone in Brooklyn with my family (daughter and son) and a friend. The place is clean, convenient, comfortable and reasonably priced for such a large space.
The owners were also very accommodating to our need to drop off our many suitcases prior to the actual time agreed upon for check in. This allowed us to site see immediately without dragging multiple bags around the city. This was very helpful, as we were moving my son from Seattle for college and had more luggage than ever.
The owners were friendly and easy accessible for questions prior to and during our stay. They checked on us throughout our stay to assure we were well cared for while visiting. There was also a book at the brownstone listing the area's restaurants, stores, laundry, etc with a map.
The space was very user friendly and comfortable. It was well stocked with basic equipment ensuring our needs were met for cooking and comfort. It was a very hot and humid time of year and each room had an air conditioner and overhead fan. My friend and son are picky sleepers and all the beds were extremely comfortable.
The subway was about 8 blocks away and I enjoyed the walk to and from the subway. I liked the diversity of this area and all the people I met on the streets around this area were friendly.
There was a great new coffee shop on Lewis by the park leading to the subway that had Ethiopian coffee (Seattle prides itself in its love of a good cup of coffee and this coffee was an 11 on a scale of 1-10) and on that same block of Lewis was a Zagat rated breakfast place called Peaches.
At Peaches I had goat cheese, mushroom and egg omelets with a side of potatoes that were fried in spare rib drippings and garnished with pickled onions and arugala. My daughter had french toast that was breaded in granola and had fresh berries. My friend had eggs benedict. They had multiple types of grits. Some real southern specialties, the choices are to many to name. Thank goodness this place is not to close to my home, because as a foody, I would gain too much weight eating such rich delicious food.
Thank you to the owners for a lovely stay and hope to see you again soon,
Satisfied Seattle family
