This condo is on the bayside of Pointe West looking over the Sunset Pool with beautiful views of the bay and easy access to the pool and bayside fishing, crabbing and other water activities. Sunsets are spectacular and a perfect way to spend the end of the day out on the patio. The Sunset Pool has a lazy river, hot tub, fire pit and grills. Great for kids and you can easily keep an eye on them from our first floor patio. If you are considering a bayside condo at Pointe West this is the BEST location!

The condo has all the amenities that a family is looking for to enjoy a beach vacation. UPDATED DECOR AND KITCHEN AUGUST 2012!! The master bedroom has direct access out to the patio and views of the pool and bay. The master bath is all tile and granite with a walk-in shower. Linens for beds and bath are provided for our guests; however guests must bring their own beach towels. Washer/dryer in unit; Laundry supplies provided. The family room has plenty of seating and the couch is a sleeper sofa in case extra accommodations are needed. A 32 inch flat screen TV and DVD/VCR is also provided.

The family game closet was updated August 2012!

The kitchen has all granite counters and stainless appliances. All utensils are provided. UPDATED AUGUST 2012! The dining room seats six comfortably. The second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds--perfect for a family with children. Large closets in both bedrooms. Overall the condo is decorated in an island theme and everything is in great condition and very comfortable.

Pointe West is an exclusive resort community on the far western tip of Galveston Island. The beaches are clean and groomed regularly and they are by far the best on the island. The main clubhouse has a beautiful infinity edge pool, hot tub, gift shop, internet usage (free wi-fi), workout facility, lockers, and beach front access.

You are only 20 minutes from downtown Galveston, the new PLEASURE PIER Boardwalk, Schlitterbahn and all the other great attractions of Galveston.

My family loved the condo and community. The condo had tons of kids games like Jenga and candy land. My kids especially loved the bunk beds. Their babies and stuffed animals found a home on the bottom bunks, while they slept up top. The kitchen had everything, even my favorite pampered chef spatula. The beachfront was a quiet peaceful community. There are several miles of golf cart paths, which my family biked. There is a secret tunnel under the highway to take you to the beach club and toddler playground. I do not think there could be a nicer condo/community within a 3 hr radius from Houston. We will definitely be returning.

Galveston getaway

We had a great trip. We got there on a tuesday evening. Really surprised on how well the condos were. The weather was a little chilly and foggy, so we only got to spend one day at the hot tub and beach. They were changing a filter out on the hot tub, so we went over to the beach club side and felt it was more fun on that side, also able to walk down ramp and stairs to get to the beach. kids really enjoyed it. The condo was fully equipped with paper towells, toilet paper and trash bags. We really didn't need to bring any necessities.

Great Relaxing Stay

We had a fantastic time and this rental and will be looking to stay again in the future. The condo was well furnished and equipped and had great access to the pool area. It was also clean and well maintained. The property's beach club was nearby and was a nice addition as well. We discovered that the pools are not heated and were a bit chilly for swimming but we still enjoyed our time relaxing by them. Bob was great to work with and responded quickly to any questions that we had. He was also very flexible in allowing us to extend our stay an extra night.

Our only suggestion would be to include a deadbolt or some other internal lock on the front door. Our two year old was able to open the door and wander out because we were unable to lock the door from the inside.

Other than that we had a great time and will be renting again from Bob in the future!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Very good suggestion about the lock and I will be looking to add a backup lock the next time we go down to our condo.

The perfect peaceful getaway!

Even though we knew that February is considered "off-season" here on the Texas Gulf Coast, we planned a week long retreat to this lovely property. It is just as described and pictured, except the views of the pool are must truly be seen to be appreciated. We found the sunsets breathtaking and did spent lots of time on the spacious balcony.
We are both gourmet cooks and did prepare most of our food in the condo. The kitchen is stocked with every kind of utensil or dish or cookware you may need. We did dine out at our favorite restaurant on the Strand, The Mediterranean Chef. Having been recent restaurant owners in that area, we always enjoy visiting owner Mazan and his attentive and professional staff. Everything we have ever had there has been fresh and delicious.
The owner was very friendly and helpful in our booking as were the people in the rental office. We recommend this comfortable and affordable condo and look forward to our next stay. We regret we had to leave after a week!

Definitely a Home Away from Home!!

This stay was perfect. We are from Colorado and decided to stay here with our 2 boys (10 year old & 1.5 year old) during leave from a year long deployment. It was the perfect choice! Cynthia and Bob were extremely helpful when it came to attractions nearby as well as ensuring we had anything needed to make our vacation as comfortable/stress-free as possible. The condo was equiped with anything and everything you needed. The place was decorated so lovely and had that great comfy, home feeling, which made us feel like we were in a "home away from home." I love to cook and there was plenty of kitchen items there to make anything I wanted, even a garlic press ;) The grocery store (Wal-Mart and Kroger) was about 20-30 min drive but doesnt seem that far at all, it is a straight shot. We stayed during the winter, but there are 2 hot tubs/pools (one right outside the condo) and the water is great for kids (not too hot) and there is also another at the club house (about a mile down the street) where the hot tub is hotter. The grounds are beatiful and there is even a place to take the kids crabbing. Cynthia and Bob have boardgames for some fun family time and there is even a fire pit at the pool area for making smores! There is something for all ages. The bed is SOOO comfortable I never wanted to get up. I honestly cant say anything bad about our stay, the owners are the sweetest people you will ever have to deal with, the condo is beautiful yet comfortable and well stocked and the grounds/views are breathtaking. I cant wait to go back!! Wish we stayed longer!!
