|Minimum Stay||2 - 14 nights|
This three bedroom house has a large grassy lawn and sits only one block from the beach! It is the perfect place for family vacation memories that will last a life time.
There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a bunk bed in the second bedroom. There is a separate studio behind the house that is the third bedroom. It has a full size futon and a half bathroom so it is great place for those who want a little more privacy. The cozy living room features a gas fireplace that keeps the house nice and toasty on those cool crisp nights. The kitchen is amply stocked with all of the essentials for the perfect home cooked meal.
The large spacious yard is perfect for kids and pets alike. There is even a covered fenced area where the dogs have shelter from the sun and rain if they want to stay outside. There is a fire pit in the yard as well but please be advised that you must obtain a permit from the city in order to use the fire pit.
The house is a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach on the north side of town close to Ecola State Park. Cannon Beach is a vibrant bustling town full of quaint shops next to modern galleries and high class restaurants. There is a little bit for everyone!
Cannon Beach limits us to only one rental every 14 days, so this house has limited checkin and checkout dates in the summer. We offer discounts for longer stays! You can use the online calendar to make a reservation or give us a call at 503-345-9399 if you have any questions.

Lots of deferred maintenance. When we arrived, the gas fireplace was not working. When it's 28 degrees outside and 43 degrees in the house, this is a problem. It took 2 calls to Vacasa rentals to determine that the gas fireplace was broken and that we were supposed to use the space heaters. The house's wiring was such that you had to place the space heaters in different areas of the house or you would blow a fuse. The cable TV didn't work. The wifi was intermitent. We had to reboot it several times. The kitchen water cold water knob was stuck. There was no printed manual for the house. The lamp in the master bedroom needed to be replaced as the housing for the wiring was easily knocked off. The fan in the kitchen was broken and the toilet in the bathroom required that you jiggle the handle to prevent the water from running. The furnishings were very ragged. I tried to email Vacasa with my concerns prior to posting this review, but received no response. All in all, not a very comfortable home away from home.
The Perfect place!
The peanut coop was ideal for us. Two adult women friends, a senior couple and a small dog. The house master bedroom was ideal for the seniors and my friend stayed in the bunk bed room. I was delighted to stay in the studio with the pooch. Could not have been better. The cottage is small but very well equipped. I totally enjoyed the great book selection and the wonderful icons in the house and outdoors.
The Ecola Seafood Market and restaurant should not be missed. Wonderful cod fish and chips for lunch and outstanding Chinook salmon baked in the cottage for dinner. The ice cream shop in town is great...cash only and lots and lots of flavor choices.
Shops are varied and fun. Take the walk down the steps (out of town several blocks) ...takes you to the base of Haystack.
This little house is perfectly situated one block from pristine beach. We loved the quiet neighborhood, the beach days, walks in the woods up behind the house and s'mores at the campfire in the front yard at night. With a few simple upgrades to the inside, this beach house could be one to visit in years to come.
Let's start with the obvious, this is a small cottage, away from downtown Cannon Beach. The Peanut Coop is a healthy walk away from the tide pools at Haystack Rock .. and only the first block isn't on the sand.
To us, this is perfect as we'd rather wake up to the Oregon rains or the waves breaking than to other families or cars or summer-season chaos. This does mean more walking to get to a store or a restaurant, but to us, that's worthwhile.. and it's less than a block to get some sand between your toes.
The kitchen is a little minimalist, but I was easily able to cook for our group, including pancakes, bacon, eggs, coffee (of course!) and simple meals - we have a collection of food allergies so it's easier to cook than to find a restaurant that we think can handle all our issues - and the separate upstairs bedroom/half-bath made a great "grownups retreat", ceding the main house, TV, and bathroom to the younger generations.
We also enjoyed quite a bit of nature, from the banana slugs visiting the back patio to the hummingbirds flitting around the front yard.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away, yet be within walking distance of everything.
it was a great place esp. to have dogs-fenced in back yard & front porch. Close to beach and lacked the crowds. Went to Ecola State Park and hiked; went into town several times, but were glad to go back to the quiet neighborhood. It was like a "home away from home" feel. The grand kids said it was the best beach trip and want to go back. Thanx, Peanut Coop!
We were here for 3 days in early April.. not a prime beach time.. but both good weather for 2 days and a spectacular gale force storm on the last day made the proximity to the wonderful beach fantastic. We really liked being in the quiet part of Cannon Beach, not the town center. It is way less busy and difficult than staying in the village, and the separation of the creek means that many fewer people frequent that end of the beach. Our part of the beach was quiet with far fewer people!
Everything was clean and in good order. We were very comfortable- three adults and 2 kids. There is a lovely porch and a more private back deck with a table and chairs. The beds are good and there are lots of extra bedding, towels etc. The slight separation of a room with 1/2 bath is a very nice feature.
This would be an even better place for a summer holiday; it's about 2 minutes from a very quiet part of the beach, and it would be easy to get back and forth. We'd return in minute!
