Originally, I'm from Indiana and my dear hubby is from everywhere due to his military career. We love, what I like to call, the Great West of this Greatest Nation. We enjoy living in Arizona and raising our family here.

It's been a dream of ours to have a home in the mountains--a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful trees. This place is ideal for us because it's close to shopping and necessities. Yet we're still on a mountain top surrounded by national forest and lots of acreage.

What makes this house unique

From the first time we drove up to the Groom Creek House, we knew that we found something really special. The floor-to-ceiling glass looking out onto the forest and endless miles of pine and mountains. The profound quiet and the beautiful evening sky with countless twinkling stars. Since there are no street lights, the night sky is amazing.

Tall Pines in South Prescott. Tall pine trees are plentiful in this part of Prescott. There is always something to do. In Historic Downtown you can find art fairs on many weekends, nightlife, theater, and fine-dining. Prescott is an active city with lots going on. Look for one of the many fun runs, bike races, or holiday events.

If you want to be more countrified check out Gold Water Lake. You'll find fishing and paddle-boating; bouldering, hiking, exploring. The horse-camp is nearby as well. Station your horses at the camp and ride the miles of trails. Mountain biking is a favorite here as there are trails for beginners and experts alike.

Your stay here can be slow paced and quiet or more adventurous with lots of activity. You can have it both ways in our neck of the woods. Come take part in the Worlds Oldest Rodeo and Frontier Days.

The bunk room is fashioned after the style of the old French sleeper cars, complete with privacy curtains and built-in reading lamps. Two EXTRA LONG TWINS and one standard twin will accommodate children, teens, and adults. This room also has it's own entrance with a view to the beautiful pine forest and the deck seating area. There is a family room in the lower level with a pull out sofabed. The queen bedroom is also on the lower level with a connecting full bathroom. The main level bedroom is a master with a king sleigh-bed, Jacuzzi tub and french doors to a private deck. The upper level bedroom is also a master and has an king poster bed and it's own dedicated balcony with french doors. The loft-office complete with fax/copy and free WiFi is on the upper level. Great for those of us who must work while at play.

I definitely not only recommend this house for vacation if you want a quiet getaway but the owner Mirandy was VERY accommodating and a sweet person. This house has everything you could want. Shop in town for groceries because it is aways out from everything about 20 minutes from the nearest store but AWESOME!! Awesome views quiet and tranquil. Would DEFINITELY rent again when in the Prescott area.

We had a blast at your home, everything was smooth and we didn't have any issues. My family vacationed here with my parents and sister (my Mom's birthday present).

When we weren't at the house it was a good jump off point for several day trips to local area forests and state parks.

My 4 year old loved the property, we went lizard and bug searching every single day. He claimed (with my Dad helping him) to find a horny toad lizard even. When we left he stated he wanted to live in the woods and not go back to our home (we live in the Bay Area, lots of city scape nearby).

A friend of ours from Phoenix came up to say hi (we hadn't seen her in 10 years) and her vehicle couldn't get up the hill, but I was able to get a rental mini van (6 cylinder) and a rental Chrysler 300 up the hill (it's also 6) without issue. There is a section right at your neighbors area with gravel that gave the 4 cylinder Jeep (large vehicle, small engine) some issues, no biggie though, they parked a little lower and walked up.

Our favorite activity at the home was having a big breakfast out on the deck. Nice and sunny, bright and with great forest/mountain views.

We left a cheap juicer at the house (we used it for limes and made Mojitos). One of the days we relaxed with Mojitos and setup the horseshoes down by the wood pile (where the second dirt drive way area is).

It was my mothers birthday so I ended up getting a cake from "Creative Cakes by Dena". It's just a little house on Fair Street in Prescott but she was nice and did a fantastic job, the cake was delicious and she did some great detail work on it (garden themed at my request).

GORGEOUS cabin!

This cabin is exactly how it's described. It is BEAUTIFUL! VERY spacious (I thought I might get lost in it!), gorgeous views, secluded, just wonderful! I was there with some family and friends for a relaxing bachelorette weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The owner of the cabin is super nice too. I would definitely stay here again!

This house was absolutely fantastic!! The location is awesome, the amenities were great, and we had the best family vacation ever!! Beautiful scenery and the location up in the mountains is unbeatable. I highly recommend The Groom Creek House!

Paradise in Prescott

This beautiful home is just a short drive outside of Prescott. The main living spaces are large and comfortable with lots of windows providing fantastic views of the forest and doors out to a large wrap-around deck. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious - no problem with too many cooks in this kitchen! Downstairs is a fantastic private space with two bedrooms, sitting room and kitchenette plus entry onto a covered deck. Off the deck is a barbecue and another outdoor space with a playhouse and sandbox for the little ones. The main level has a wonderful bedroom with a fireplace, en suite bathroom and access to the hot tub. Upstairs is a lovely four poster king bed with a sitting area and balcony overlooking the forest. My sisters, niece and mother enjoyed a week that was balmy at the start and a snowy wonderland at the end. Mirandy was so thoughtful, checking in on us when it started snowing to make sure everything was okay. This is the perfect home for large families and I would love to visit again with my children and their families.
