Decorated with contemporary art, this beautiful, fully furnished rental is completely equipped and ready for residents. Perfect for any season, the air conditioned apartment includes parking for up to two cars, a small outdoor patio, and is a lovely home away from home for one or two people.
The town of Madison is the perfect summer destination. Under two hours from Manhattan, twenty minutes from New Haven, and just 2.5 hours from Boston, Madison is a quaint getaway from city life, but is far from isolated. A centrally located train station connects to the Shoreline East Railroad, making travel into surrounding cities simple.
Local destinations like nearby Premium Outlet Shopping Centers; Mystic seaport and Mystic aquarium; Yale University; the Peabody, Yale Gallery, and British Art Museums; and the Goodspeed and Longwharf theaters make for great day trips. However, despite the temptation of these surrounding attractions, it's hard to believe that anyone would feel the need to go much further than Madison's town center. Just a three minute walk from the rental, the town is home to a beautiful library, a variety of coffee shops, world renowned book shop RJ Julia, Madison Art Cinemas, and a handful of restaurants and sweetshops, including local favorite Ashley's ice cream. Madison also boasts the Sculpture Mile, a free, self-guided walking tour of unique and eye-catching art which lines the picturesque town.
Staying for the summer? Madison's sandy, New England beaches are scenic and relaxing, the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. A small public beach is located just down the street, and the larger East Wharf beach (pictured below) is just a ten minute walk away.

I have lived in Madison, CT with my two children for sixteen years, and I love the town. I take full advantage of the local beaches and take daily walks with my dog along the nearby shoreline. The rental is located across the driveway from our home, so I am available if issues arise, or if you simply have a question about where to find a great meal! I teach public high school, and enjoy meeting those who come to stay in the apartment throughout the year.
Bright, contemporary space on a lovely street in the heart of Madison--the perfect spot for us while we renovated our house nearby. The gracious owner answered every question and accommodated every request promptly. There were nice extras like a Christmas wreath for the cottage door and a plate of cookies brought while checking on a minor repair. After six weeks, it felt like home!
Having grown up in Madison, I was delighted to find this lovely cottage for my family to spend two weeks in my hometown. Its location is unbeatable...walking distance to the beach, town center, restaurants, etc. The cottage is very comfortable for two, but can accommodate 3-4 if you don't mind sharing the only bathroom which is off the master bedroom. Kitchen is spacious and a huge stone fireplace creates a nice atmosphere for the living room. Colorful art abounds throughout the cottage. A private terrace with dining table and grill were much used! Virginia (owner) is most helpful. Highly recommend this place.
What a lovely discovery! The cottage is nicer than the photos and description can depict. Virginia, the owner, and her family were welcoming and very attentive to all our needs. The cottage is supplied with top of the line ammenities. We have travelled across the country and I would rate this stay as one of the most comfortable lodgings we have stayed in. The kitchen is fully equipped with qualilty cookware and everything you would have at home. The washer and dryer were a life saver. The cottage is filled with artwork and the best coffee table books to wile away a rainy evening. There is central air and heat that you can control to your own comfort. Madison's village center is a couple minutes walk and so is a nice beach. The location is ideal to explore the Connecticut coastline and the MetroNorth train is convenient for a day in NYC. I would have used a full length mirror and dresser but the cottage was so wonderful it did not matter to us. We will definately stay here again for our next Connecticut trip. Thank you Virginia for your warm hospitality and a relaxing, enjoyable week. Sharon and John
Lovely escape! Great to have a private place to come home to.The pics really do not do it justice! Clean, bright and efficient. Everything one would need for comfort, oh that queen bed soo comfy...really do need a full length mirror for dressing and a small dresser w/drawers for clothing. Living room very chic furniture, full wall art and fieldstone fireplace, streams of sunlight.
Great kitchen and bow window where the chickadee put on their show! Not sure if it was the Easter Bunny but he did a lot of looking under the bushes and Easter Sunday did bring chocolate marshmallow eggs..humm maybe the grandkids told him where we were.
Area so peaceful and the owner, Gini couldn't have been more gracious. We really felt like family. Kato was quick to give a 'woof' and tail wag. We were sorry to leave but WE WILL BE BACK later this summer. Our son, a local attorney said he is sure to tell out of town clients about this little gem.

This is such a beautiful place, the pictures do not do it justice! Kitchen is huge, and has all utensils available, it's very spacious and comfortable and in a great location. The owner is across the drive and as warm and welcoming as an innkeeper, yet the rental is free standing and staying here is basically having a small home to yourself. This will be my new home away from home when it's available and I need to stay on the shoreline. I cannot say enough great things about this or the owner.
This apartment is a lovely environment in which to stay, both outside and inside. Inside it has been beautifully furnished, is very comfortable, and has all the equipment anyone would need or want. Outside the patio, yard, garden and pool are perfect for watching the birds and chilling out. The owner is extremely welcoming and always asks if there is anything we need. We have been so many times that it is like a second home to us. We love it all.
