Decisions, Decisions. Should we go or should we stay and just lay here in bed and enjoy the breathtaking water view along with it's ever-changing array of cargo ships, ferries and personal water craft making their way in and out of the harbor. Also in the spring and summer months the magnificent cruise ships will be going by.
Comfortable newer furnishings. The beds feature the deep luxurious memory foam mattresses. The kitchen is fully equipped with bright and shiny stainless steel appliances.
When you do decide to go see the sights, you are only minutes away from the entrance to Hurricane Ridge or the ferry to Victoria B.C. Twilight fan? Forks is about an hour away to the west.
In other words, Jaden's Getaway is the perfect location for your getaway.
Keywords: Awesome waterview from the living room, kitchen, dining area, and master bedroom!
Welcome to Jaden's Getaway! We are so happy to be able to share our home with you.
This home is named after our 5 year old son Jaden. The closing date on this home was the one year anniversary of his adoption.
We hope that you have a wonderful and relaxing time here at Jaden's Getaway.
Jeanne Blaettler purchased this house in 2008
My husband and I have been vacationing here the past few years and fell in love with the area and the slow pace of life. We can't imagine living anywhere else in the summers. The weather is perfect and the waterview is so amazing!
You will get to see cruise ships leaving and arriving to the Port of Seattle and to Vancouver, British Columbia. There is also a lot of cargo ships and freighters as well as sailboats and ferries. There is never a dull moment on the water.
Also, you will see bald eagles regularly and the deer are always walking around.
"Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to come stay again!
The house was perfect for our long-weekend getaway to the Olympics. It's got the best view imaginable of the Strait; the homeowners have wisely chosen not to fence the yard, so absolutely nothing blocks the view of the shipping channel. The house itself is clean, tidy, and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is also terrific -- it's in a quiet neighborhood that is a very short drive from town, and that is convenient to the National Park. We definitely would think about renting this house again.
This is a very comfortable home with outstanding views of the Strait! Well appointed kitchen with a gas grill on the patio. Great central location to visit all of the wonderful sights of the NW peninsula. We all enjoyed our stay!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jaden's Getaway. 2 couples traveling together - perfect setup with the 2 master bedrooms separated. The home is plenty big, very well maintained, very clean. Gorgeous view from the huge picture window overlooking the Strait, watching the huge freighters go by, and Canadian mountains in the background.
The beds truly are comfortable as other reviews have stated, the kitchen well equipped for cooking at home as if someone lived there, not like a rental. The home was very clean and quite spacious.
Port Angeles is not much of a town, a few shops/restaurants, a couple of them nice like Kokopelli's Grill, not a ton of visual charm like Sequim. But we were using this as a home base to relax with the view, and we enjoyed several easy day trips to Hurricane Ridge, whale watching trip out of Port Angeles, kayaking nearby, Hoh Rainforest, and Second Beach. Perfect location for getting around Olympic Nat'l Forest and for having some downtime with a stunning view. Fire pit outside, grill and patio furniture, laundry and office area, tons of light in the space.
2 things to note: the neighborhood is very unattractive and rundown driving in, do not let this fool you. The home is lovely and the view worth it, and we had no problems and did not feel unsafe. Also the living room has just 1 couch and 1 chair, a little tight for 4 people to sit, but we just spread out to the bar and dining table. One more easy chair would be welcome. The binoculars by the window really came in handy, a stocked bookshelf and games and guidebooks. Everything we could need, we were quite pleased.
This is the first time that my family (there were 4 of us) and I have used VRBO for a vacation. We will definitely go this route again. As past reviews have indicated, the view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca is phenomenal. We saw lots of freighters, fishing trawlers, pleasure boats and cruise ships. There is a Coast Guard facility and a pilot boat would meet the boats going through the Strait. Very cool. We could have spent days just doing this. However, our plan was to use Jaden's Getaway as a base to explore the Olympic National Park. We did. The park is beautiful and not too crowded - very unusual for a National Park. With three ecosystems, it's a fascinating place to explore. We lucked out and had sunny days for our entire stay.
This comfortable house was in an ideal spot. Very close to the Hurricane Ridge park entrance as well as to the cities of Sequim and Port Townsend. It's in a quiet neighborhood - an older home but well maintained and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and getting a good night's sleep is important on any vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and if the opportunity presents itself, would come back to the Getaway again. Thanks owners for sharing your home with us.
P.S. Ditto on a prior comment that a telescope would be a good addition.
The pictures do not do this place justice. The view from the living room is outstanding. Very spacious and comfortable. We had a great time.
Such a nice home with such an AMAZING view of the harbor. Comfortable beds, too.
The only thing I that would have made it even better would have been higher powered binoculars or small telescope.
