A Home Away From Home: This cottage was built in 1986 - 1990 by our family and has proven to be a haven for young and old as we seek a serene area where the outside enters the inside and we live among the forest and friends of the forest.
It is expansive and open and allows private time plus the excitement of friends and family bound together.
The privacy of the acreage makes one feel cut off from the world while being within a five minute walk into the middle of town. The town is small but expands greatly in the summer season and offers shops, dining, medical services, and a community center, a first class public library, land and water sports of every conceivable type, music and festivals, outstanding museums, religious opportunities, small town fun and games, a children's center, elderly programs, sporting activities, and stumbling on all types of native animals.
We encourage 'greening' activities with the home and surroundings and environmental procedures to leave the earth like we find it.
Now what might you do to invest your time in this paradise? Well, photography, .bird watching, whale watching, discovering puffins, seals, eagles, studying all types of native animals that roam free on the island are just a few of the joys of nature at your service. Walking, hiking, biking, boating, sailing, kayaking will fill your days and make you enjoy peaceful sleep on the 'Quiet side'. You can look at the National park site which covers all Park activities for both adults and children with extensive hiking trails, beaches / lakes plus day and evening tours and programs.....www.nps.gov/acad/ This is a major informamtion source for our travelers.
The cottage will be filled with books, guides, maps etc...on what to do and where to do it.
