Above and Beyond is a two story home in the Oceana Marin subdivision in the quaint little town of Dillon Beach.
The home is situated at the end of a level cul de sac yet up high enough to offer amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, Tomales Bay, Point Reyes Peninsula and Bodega Head. Our goal is to offer a 'home away from home' experience to relax, play games, watch movies, cook or BBQ your favorite family recipes (or try new local dishes!) and simply to create memories that will last a lifetime!
Whether at home, outdoors or at one of the many local attractions, there is something for everybody!

Phil and Joanne have been married since 1987. We have a daughter and a son both in their twenties- we are not quite empty nesters but consider having a vacation rental part of our next 'season' of life together. We both grew up near the ocean and love the climate and relaxed atmosphere of the northern California coast. We live now in the Sierra foothills where we get the hot, dry summers so really enjoy the cooler coastal weather. We love sharing our home on the coast and consider it a blessing and a privilege to do so.
Ms. Galati- Owner purchased this house in 2010
With our family and friends we have rented homes in this area of the coast many times since 1998. We have many fond memories of each of the visits. We wanted to have a more permanent home to visit ourselves and to offer others the enjoyment of the coastal climate and activities that we have enjoyed so so much in the past
We love the fact that one can enjoy the ocean breezes and wonderful views even if you never feel like leaving the home. Perfect for a cozy weekend reading a book or playing games by the fire. We love to pick up some fresh oysters to BBQ on the deck and hike out along the beach or the trails that start from the top of Oceana....
**We are participants in Marin County's Clean Energy Deep Green Program, which provides you with 100% clean, renewable energy.
(youngster entry) This place is so cool. Our grandparents came and they loved it but had to leave early we stayed one more night. We loved your pool table and especially your foosball table.
Above and Beyond is exactly that, above other homes which allows for views beyond your expectations! Joanne was very helpful, pleasant and prompt in correspondence. The kitchen was spacious, but could use a couple of sharp knives and a more energy efficient fridge. Maybe a hairdryer in each full bathroom would be more convenient, too. The house accommodated our group (6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs) just fine. The driveway fit a mini van, a full size truck and a Honda Element. The house was very clean and comfortable. We bbq'd oysters and had a feast down at Dillon beach with family and friends and our four-legged friends had a great time running along the shore! We couldn't have wished for better weather in mid-October! Most of us drove down to the beach since we had a lot of stuff to bring down for our party, but we had 2 bicyclers and they said it was a 1.5 mile ride downhill, so of course they made it a one-way trip, catching a ride back up to the house! We can't wait to return to Above and Beyond, hopefully making it a longer stay.
I have stayed here two times over the past few years. The home has a real comfy feel perfect for the beachy rustic location. I love the panoramic view from the living room and dining room. Just sitting on the balcony for hours and listening to the surf crash below is a highlight. The house is well kept with VERY comfortable living room furniture. Great place for reading. My favorite thing though about this house is being able to sleep in the master bedroom in a king size bed and hear the surf all the way down the hill far below. That's awesome!! I like staying above the ocean as opposed to on the beach. it's a different feel being above and beyond. I will hopefully have many more stays here with my friends, family and my well behaved Lab Delilah.
Really nice view, perfect place for peaceful gateway.
The house is well maintained and has all facilities.
Nice accommodations. Kitchen with everything needed+ - which is good, I like to cook. Nice view.
This house has gorgeous views of the ocean. With a family of 6 with kids aging from 5 months to 17 years, we went to the beach daily, and had it nearly to ourselves. It is a large beach with few people. The beach was great for body surfing, boogy boarding, kite flying, bouldering or just hanging out in the sand. Dillon Beach is farther from amenities than expected, and it took us a half a day to find a store that sold sun tan lotion with SPF >4. Once we found Petaluma (about 30 minute drive) we had everything we needed. We got one clear night with beautiful stars. Most nights the fog rolled in around dusk. Highly recommend this location.
First, I noted the cleanliness! Will pass the white glove test. You will feel welcomed before your arrival when the owner contacts you. She gives wonderfully helpful local information! The views from the living/dining/and bedroom areas will feed your soul. Through the romance of fog or sparkling sun you will love the ocean view, deer and fawns grazing by the house, wild turkey parades, and birds of prey on display just outside the huge windows of the living area. We stayed 10 days, eating only 3 meals out. The kitchen has everything you need to cook fabulous meals, BBQ works well, fresh local veggies and seafood are not to be missed. We even contacted a local rancher, went to the ranch and bought steak to BBQ. Be sure to visit Armstrong Redwoods, canoe down the Russian River, explore wine country, go to Point Reyes, take your dog to dog friendly Dillon Beach and just relax. We did it all! Note: We tried for reservations to tour Cowgirl Creamery and Hog Island Oyster Company but you must make reservations 2 or more weeks in advance. We stay VRBO regularly and this one will not disappoint.
