Fantastic Montana Getaway
What a wonderful time we had here in this lovely home in its ideal setting! We came as an extended family of three generations: 2 parents, our 3 children and their spouses, and these children's children. In total, there were 8 adults and 4 children aged 2 to 10 years. Never once did we feel as though we were a family of porcupines living too close to each other's quills.
The beautiful log house was roomy and spotless, full of fresh air and dancing sunlight. The beds were large and comfortable. The water was hot and plentiful. The well-equipped kitchen with its long cabinets and spacious island was ideal for permitting several cooks to prepare meals at once. The yard was huge and the children could play with minimal supervision. Two of the boys especially enjoyed looking for and gathering eggs from the chickens. And the strawberries, lettuce, and fresh herbs from the garden put the finishing touches on several of the meals we ate together.
There were many special things about our time here, but the two highlights for me, anyway, was how very dark it got at night and how very quiet it was all the time. Light and noise pollution were non-existent, making our week here a restful oasis away from our usual world.
Thank you, Renae and Mark, for sharing your home with us. Your friendliness and hospitality provided us with a most memorable family experience. We definitely hope to come back sometime!
