It is almost certain that, during your stay here, you will want to take a day trip to one or two of the surrounding islands. Koyao Island Resort staff can arrange a perfect day out for you. Take a look at some of the examples below – there is a larger excursion book at reception.
A first start is to borrow one of the resort’s mountain or motorbikes and to explore the island. The roads are easy to navigate and local people more than willing to help you should you get lost. If you feel like a more leisurely day, hire a Tuk Tuk (taxi) and driver guide and set of for a day of fun and adventure.
At the resort there are boats for those who enjoy canvassing the sea. There are also canoes and fishing rods available.
Koyao Experience Boat For day trips it is normal to use a traditional Thai ‘longtail’ boat – so named as its propeller is on the end of a long pole. On these excursions you visit mangrove forests, coves and caves, crystal clear waters and uninhabited islets. The islets and islands around Koh Yao Noi are formed by millions of years of deposits and are now made up essentially of limestone. Rock climbing is possible on the limestone cliffs and their weird formations make for some stunning photography at different times of the day.
