Great apartment overlooking the harbor of Anstruther just 9 miles south of St. Andrews the world famous home of golf. Numerous fine golf courses nearby. Beautiful coastal walk connecting five picturesque fishing villages. Anstruther is the largest of the five villages and offers many great shops, pubs, and restaurants. The ferry to the Isle of May leaves from Anstruther Harbor. The island has a fascinating history and is a bird watcher's paradise. The Kingdom of Fife offers many historical places of interest as well as beautiful beaches and lots of outdoor activities.
The apartment was purchased in 2007 and was completely refurbished in 2008. It has 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room so it can sleep up to 6 people maximum. Both the larger bedroom and the living room have outstanding views over the Firth of Forth and Anstruther harbor. The flat is part of a listed building rebuilt in 1835.

My husband and I live in Florida but I am from Scotland. We both love Scotland and purchased the flat so that we could have a place of our own when we visit family. We intend to spend a lot of time there after retirement.

We chose Anstruther because it is a very popular holiday destination that is not too far from my family. The area is very charming and beautiful and offers many amenities.
We really enjoy the coastal walk that connects the fishing villages and the top notch seafood restaurants and pubs in the area. We like being close to St. Andrews - my husband enjoys all the great golf courses within easy driving distance as well as the fun 9-hole course in Anstruther. Being close to St. Andrews and only an hour to Edinburgh is also a big plus. I also have to say the water and harbor views from the flat are wonderful.
This was our second visit to this flat in Anstruther and certainly won't be our last. From the moment you walk in the door you relax. A very clean and beautifully decorated flat. We used it as a chill out from very busy workloads and this place certainly hits the spot. We can't wait to come back.
My family have recently returned from a short break in this lovely seaside town. The flat had everything we needed and was ideally situated for a leisurely evening stroll along the water's edge. Everyone slept well, including my daughter who slept on the sofa bed. The kitchen was well equipped and met our needs well. Being so well situated for all of the East Neuk villages was an advantage and being so close to St Andrews was great. Our days were spent exploring the surrounding villages and picnicking on the beach, having coffee and sampling some very good fish and chips. It was lovely to come 'home' to such a comfortably appointed flat at the end of a tiring day out. We still feel we have a lot to explore in the East Neuk and look forward to a return visit soon.
We had a lovely weekend away in this flat. It is perfectly situated with beautiful views on to the pier, boats etc. The flat was perfectly suited for us, colleagues just wanting a break away to spend relaxing time together. It was spacious, clean and cosy. We spent the weekend walking in Anstruther and Elie, ate in the Dreel Tavern and relaxed in the flat. We definitely hope to repeat this experience next year!
We had a wonderful week in the flat on the harbour in Anstruther. It is very well situated, and beautifully decorated.....and we appreciated how responsive the owner was to our queries. We often walked to the nearby supermarket for shopping, and enjoyed the restaurants and coffee shops that were very close by. We highly recommend this as a holiday spot, and hope to return very soon!
We were in Fife for a golf holiday in September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Anstruther. The apartment is immaculately clean, large and very comfortable, with a wonderful view of the harbour. It is close to all amenities, and a great central base from which to explore and golf in the region. A terrific price point as well, especially compared with properties in St. Andrews (a mere 20 minutes away). You do need a car, but parking on the side streets is readily available. We had a terrific dinner at the nearby restaurant "The Cellar" (a three minute walk). Sheena was always very prompt in her replies to my queries, and her instructions were thorough and clear. No hesitation in recommending this property.
This was our second stay at the flat in Anstruther, and we were glad we went back as it was as nice as we remembered. The flat is a lot bigger than it would seem from the exterior and has two good size bedrooms, large lounge and kitchen diner. It has everything you need to make your stay really comfortable, and there are also some really nice personal touches to make the stay stand out from your average rental for example, the owner leaves a welcome bottle of wine for each visitor. The flat is very clean inside and it is perfectly located for exploring both Anstruther and the wider east neuk - there are various takeaways and restaurants on your doorstep or you are only a short drive away from St Andrews and the other villages nearby. We would definitely recommend and will be staying there again.
