A Haven for International Travellers

Bree's Cottage was a heavenly retreat after a long journey from the Philippines. Anita made us feel terrifically welcome from before our departure and throughout our stay and departure. The cottage is lovingly decorated, and little personal touches can be found throughout the cottage, including lots of momentos and informative books from China! My daughter attended summer camp at Interlochen, and I would recommend it for international families who wish to be close by. Those used to bustling cities may find the location and privacy a little daunting, but the peace, beauty and particular charm of the cottage, lake and area are infectious. For Asian travelers, Tom's Marketplace, which is five minutes away caries Lee Kum Kee chilli sauce!! and other basics for the Asian palate. Oryana's Natural Foods in Traverse City offers a range of other necessities for organic food lovers. The well-functioning internet is a real bonus and I could not have taken the cottage without it! Those who like hard beds will find its lovely to sleep on the futon by the patio door which offers sterling sunrise views over Interlochen. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped, though you'll find yourself veering to barbequed meals outdoors! Rice lovers, note that you'll need to cook rice in a pot. The photos and description are accurate but don't convey fully the special charm of this lovely cottage. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the charm of a Great Lakes cottage. Bring your ipad stocked with books and movies, though there are DVDs and books at the cottage.
