San Carlos on the Gulf, your Pied a Mer, is a charming beach house situated out of the crazy beach traffic on quiet San Carlos Island. No cost was spared in creating this beautiful home. You’ll enjoy Million Dollar Views across wide San Carlos Bay. Spectacular sunsets, exotic birds returning to Bird Island each evening, watching the working boats and the recreational boats go in and out of the harbor daily. You can't beat this location, even right smack on the beach. See it all, right from the privacy of your own pool, hot tub, or lovely screen porch. . Every July 4th and New Year’s Eve, you can see the Fort Myers Beach Fireworks up right from the property!
The main floor is open concept living, dining and galley. The cabinetry throughout the home is custom Amish made Hickory, finished to resemble driftwood. The same folks made the dining table and chairs, to match. The fully equipped kitchen has an induction cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, and large refrigerator/freezer with in-the-door filtered drinking water and ice. Enjoy the expansive granite countertop and breakfast bar. There is a second refrigerator/freezer on the pool level for drinks and extras, as well as a pool cabana with shower. There is also an al fresco shower next to the hot tub.
The stunning artwork throughout the home is original. The all-wood interior wall finishing gives this beautiful property its unique beach house charm. The main floor has two wide French doors that open to the broad screened porch, for dining or sunset watching. The home is equipped with cable TV, huge flat-screen TV with sound system, and high speed internet access.
Both bedrooms on the main floor have king sized beds and ensuite baths with Amish custom cabinetry and granite countertop, one with jetted tub, and the waterside bedroom has a large shower. The landside bedroom overlooks 100 feet of extensive landscaping to the street. Very private and quiet. Three couples could share the home with fairly equal and private accommodations.
The master suite is on the top floor with it's own screened porch perch. Sleep peacefully in the comfy king sized four-poster bed, with the doors open when it's cool and hear the dolphins poofing in the water and the wind. Enjoy your private ensuite with double sinks on custom natural cherry base, huge shower or double jetted tub, and commode and bidet. The adjoining office, with twin day bed and trundle, has a wide screen TV, as does the master.

We both grew up in the north, but the boating and diving drew us to Florida. When we are not in residence at San Carlos on the Gulf, we are most likely up north in the Adirondacks or in the Bahamas on our classic 1989 Chris Craft Catalina 48, Molly Starr.
Location, Location, Location and View, View, View! We bought this property as a diamond in the rough. An old fishing shack sat on the this property and the one directly north. It was an old fishing shack with a million dollar view in an upcoming area. We knew we would love to live here, and that our boat would, too! We designed and built this house in 2008-2009.
What makes this house unique is its charm. My builder had never done wall finishes like we wanted. All wood. Beautiful. We used to live on the beach on Captiva Island. I know- it's beautiful out there! But during tourist season, the traffic is horrendous, and it's very isolated. The beauty of San Carlos Island is that it's close to everything, but in a quiet little enclave out of the traffic and noise. We love it here. We think you will, too.
