A beautiful 'private beach house' ideal either for one couple or up to 4 guests.
The property has covered and open terraces, swimming pool and gardens. bedrooms layout provides privacy and comfort.
The property is located in Uaymitun, the most exclusive area close to the small fishermen village of Chicxulub with beautiful and quiet beaches were you can enjoy and relax with a coconut drink fresh harvested from your own backyard.
Just in front of the house there are a beautiful formation of coral reefs where you can snorkel.
Flamingo watching spot, deep sea fishing, golf, Mayan ruins and excellent sea food are just a few of the great things you will experience.
We build this lovely villa
Maria Camara purchased this villa in 2000
We are from Merida Yucatan our family have been living here for generations.
Progreso & Chicxulub have been since long ago the place where we the Yucatecan people spent our vacations and is a tradition to have a house at the beach as a second home.
To bring the children to the beach and let them play free is what our parents did to us and belive me is unforgetable!
This is a villa with a nice and relaxing flavor, with many coconut trees where you may reach for a coconut and enjoy a cool 'coco tonic', or have a siesta (nap) in a hammock feeling the sea breeze and maybe watching some dolphins passing by (very often). The beach front swimming pool is just outside the terrace and a few short steps down, will take you to the beach.
This is a remote Villa right on the water! The pictures are realistic and you are literally 15 steps off the back deck into the Gulf of Mexico! You can walk for hours along the beach and never reach an 'end'.
The house is fully equipped with all that you need (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, gas stove top and oven, water dispenser, silverware (it's in the blue hutch in the dining room!), plates, glasses, pots/pans, and a BBQ! It has 3 bathrooms and showers, two bedrooms are upstairs - the master has a queen bed, and the 2nd room has two single beds. Each room is equipped with a ceiling fan and an air conditioner (although I didn't use the aircon because the open windows and ceiling fan were enough for me).
The property itself is full of palm trees, white sand, and is very clean and very well maintained. The pool is clean and the water inviting!! After a dip in the ocean, you can take a rinse using the outdoor shower.
Maria, the owner, is absolutely fantastic to deal with. She is fluent in English, responsive to your questions, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have the best experience in her home!
Uaymitun is where the house is located. The first time driving there might feel like you'll never find it again, but it's very very easy to find and return to (no matter how many cervezas you've had!). The house is a 20 minute drive to Progreso, where you can go and get supplies and have some great meals (go to Barlovento!). North of the property, you can drive to Xcambo and visit Mayan ruins and along the way, you can visit a Flamingo habitat and the salt flats!
YOU NEED A VEHICLE! That is a must. If you forgo the vehicle, you can take the Collectivo (local bus - it's a white van) into Chicxulub, then another Collectivo into Progreso. Just stand at the end of the driveway and wave down a white van...it will cost you 8 Pesos to Chicxulub and another 8 to Progreso.
I spent two weeks here and on the fourth day, I had to check to ensure I still had a pulse...
Thank you, Maria, for your attentiveness, friendliness, and for sharing your home!
If you want sun, beach, a good price, culture and relaxing, okay. Living in Germany, as we do, you can have this without travelling far away, there is the mediterranean sea and very much places offer that. I´m sure, there are a lot of places comparably in the US as well in Mexico. But - if you want it in a way, you will never forget, if you want a unbelievable beautiful designed house on a real property which is very, very big, making you feel a rock star and equipped with everything you need, which is clean, calm, safe and where you really have your own private beach only a few steps away from your terrace (yes there is a big pool too, filled with water cleaned several times during our 12-day-stay), sitting with candles and torches eating fresh fish and habaneros or anything you want, that you all can buy in the nearby fishing village Progreso, if you want to visit archeological sites without driving more than 15 Minutes, if you want to see flamingos, pelicans and watch hundreds of fireflys in the night (yes, we did!) and sleep deep while listening the waves - - - well, then book this house.
You can phone the owner, if something is wrong (during the stay: One SMS, and next day a problem is solved), there was perfect communication and help through the paying process via paypal, we could reach the owner before, during and after on phone and email, all financial things went smooth.
I would recommed to rent a car; you don´t need to drive long to get everything you want (two superstores, gas station 10 Minutes driving, Progreso with a very big marketplace where restaurants buy anything they need, banks, shops 15 Minutes), but you can´t do it by foot.
All the pictures the owner shows are correct, there is no fake.
It´s absolutely worth the price.
