ARTISTIC CRAFTSMAN STYLE HOME

We had an exceptional visit to 500 Truney Street. Normally we stay in San Francisco when business brings us to the city, but this was a longer stay and we desired quiet and more home-like environment. 500 Turney Street met these expectations completely. The house is a beautiful turn-of-the-century craftsman with tremendous character and history tied to Sausalito. It is well apportioned and tastefully decorated to reflect the owner's love of art and literature. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked...we hosted a multi-course dinner for 10 business associates and found everything we needed to prepare a memorable meal and execute a successful event. The house is located in Sausalito's banana belt and we had sunny weather on 30 of 31 days--extraordinary! The fog did come in on most nights, but burned off by mid-morning. I now find that I miss the relaxing drone of distant fog horns that marked the fog's advance. The house is a 10 minute walk to the ferry to SF (we used it each day). A small market, movie theater, and numerous restaurants are within a 2 to 5 minute walk. The listing was completely acurate in all respects, and we were very pleased with the property when we arrived. The photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities of 500 Turney and the house was clean and well-maintained, with clear directions for all functions (such as trash) and equipment (such as grill, TV and stereo). Additionally, one of us is an avid biker and the close proximity to the trails of the Marin Headlands was a highly attractive feature of this property (note that the house is 2 blocks from one of the best bike shops in the bay area--"A Bicycle Odyssey" on Bridgeway). Finally, we had our dogs with us, and we appreciated the dog-friendly environment. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly, and took time to show us around Sausalito and provide "insider" guidance on where to eat and what to do. This was greatly appreciated and added much to our stay. Our friendship with the owner is one of the great take-aways from this trip. We will definitely seek to stay at 500 Turney again on future trips to the Bay Area and heartily recommend this property to anyone seeking a beautiful rental away from the bustle of the city. 500 Turney is truly a home away from home.

The home at 500 Turney is perfectly located in Sausalito. It is an easy five-minute walk to restaurants, the shopping district, and the ferry to San Francisco, yet it is far enough up the hill to be removed from the noise and bustle of Brideway. This home is more like a home than a rental. The house and belongings are filled with charm and history of the owners. Although I brought novels to read, I spent the week reading books in the home about the area and history of this part of California. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals across the country, and there is no house that compares to all the extras provided by this one, including fresh fruit, flowers, and scented bath soaps. The kitchen is fully stocked (including a drawer of spices) such that you would never have to eat out if you didn’t want to. The best part is the owner, Susan, lives in the apartment below the house and is extremely friendly and helpful should you have any questions. I can’t wait to return to Sausalito and stay again at 500 Turney!

What a wonderful home! Our family of five, twin seven year olds a four year old rented Susan's lovely home for a week. It felt like home away from home for us. The house is ideally located with wonderful views. It's walking distance and extremely convenient to all of main street, markets, dry cleaners, parks etc. We only drove our car when venturing away from Sausalito for the day.

The house is charming beyond words, inviting and warm. It's clean and beautifully kept. The added touches of toys, books and personal decor made it so much more enjoyable.

We loved the floor plan and enjoyed each room. The front porch was a wonderful congregating area for all.

The homeowner Susan was lovely to meet and gave us great information regarding the area, things to do and places to dine. We are so lucky to have found this home and will definitely rent here again
