On the top floor, the master bedroom has a comfy queen bed, walk-in closet and windows overlooking our back deck with private garden. The second bedroom has a beautiful antique double bed with windows that offer views of the Bay. The third bedroom has two children's twin beds and bean bag chairs that our grandchildren enjoy when they visit. There is a full bath with shower upstairs.
Downstairs, the kitchen is bright, elegant and large with a marble counter for casual meals, modern appliances, artistic touches and french doors that open to our rear deck with a gas barbeque and private garden oasis. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need for family meals and entertaining. There is a whimsical full bath with clawfoot tub downstairs. There is a formal diningroom with arts & crafts furnishings and a very comfortable livingroom...both of these rooms have large windows that provide charming views of the bay and the surrounding neighborhood. The den is where we watch TV, read books or listen to music from our book and CD libraries. The den is furnished with a leather sofa that converts to a double bed and a wonderful window seat that looks out to a beautiful maple tree in the front yard. Our front porch is perfect for outdoor breakfasts or dinners with views of the Bay and the surrounding hills of Sausalito. The house can sleep 4 adults and 2 children comfortably.
This is a wonderful home for couples or families who want to relax in a great environment and be well located to enjoy the many amenities while visiting the Bay Area.

My husband and I stayed at Susan's cosy and beautiful home for almost a week, together with our three little boys. Susan's home was perfectly clean, there was a ton of room for all of us, Susan was incredibly generous, interesting and informative, and her place was only minutes' walk from cafes, a hundred metres from a gourmet supermarket, close to the ferry, pier and shops. We loved every second of our stay, and so did our kids. We only wish we could visit again.
My now-husband and I had a destination wedding in San Francisco, and we were looking for a way to house our family under one roof in a nice neighborhood for a reasonable rate. Susan's Sausalito home fit the bill perfectly. The house itself had plenty of room for the group, the neighborhood was adorable, and there was plenty to do within walking distance.
Susan herself was gracious and as lovely as her home (or, should I say, her home was as lovely as her!). We arrived a bit early and ended up meeting her at the beginning of our stay; she was helpful in pointing us in the best direction for activities and restaurants, which we appreciated.
Key features of the house were the large kitchen and the dining room, where we had family meals. There's a small backyard area that makes the most of the available space, and we saw hummingbirds outside the window feeding on a flowering tree just outside the kitchen.
On our last day, the entire group reached the consensus that we would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the San Francisco area.
The perfect home to stay in for a perfect vacation! Upon entering the home we immediately felt like we were coming to stay with a close friend. It was inviting, cozy, and had everything we were looking for. The location was quiet, but just a few blocks from all of the restaurants, shops, and the ferry. So much nicer than a hotel! It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
We stayed here for 6 days and were delighted with everything about the house, the location and the area around Sausalito. The house is genuinely beautiful and full of charm and character. Clearly a well loved family home with many photos, art works and furnishings that reflect the lives and personalities of the people who have lived here. This is as far away from an impersonal hotel as you could find.
It's really well equipped, clean and comfortable in a quiet neighbourhood yet just minutes from all the facilites of Sausalito. Parking was easy and Susan provided a visitor badge to allow free parking for the duration of our stay.
Sausalito is a great choice for visiting the Bay area. It's a charming town with all the restaurants you could want yet minutes from San Francisco by car or ferry. The ferry journey is great for downtown visiting, landing at the Ferry Building with it's shops and bars and restaurants, including my all time favouriteThe Hog Island Oyster bar.
Just be aware that Golden Gate bridge is an electronic toll bridge now which tracks your car number plate and you need to set up a payment facility online to avoid problems later. it's easy to do though.
The best areas for us though were north of the town into the Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Sonoma and Armstrong State Park areas. Redwoods that are over 300ft tall and 1400 years old are genuinely awe inspiring. If in Sonoma, try The Girl and the Fig restaurant for lunch...very good.
In Sausalito, we like the atmosphere and food in Salito's Crab House and Poggio for Italian food.
The best views of San Francisco are from the Marin Headland side and from the ferry as you pass Alcatraz and approach the city.
All in all, we had a fantastic time yet again in San Francisco and are really pleased we chose to stay here. No hesitiation in returning or recommending it to friends and family.
Home was in a perfect location, within easy walking distance to stores, restaurants and ferry to San Francisco. A car is not necessary when you stay here. The house was charming and very clean. Our family had a wonderful stay.
This property was more than we could have ever asked for. The homeowner was so fabulous and made sure to make the property feel like home. The scenic views are a plus and within walking distance is a movie theater, deli, grocery store and fun local bars.
We hope to have a reason to visit the area again soon!
