The Longbeach Cottage was built in 1920 and lovingly restored to preserve its historic qualities, while providing the modern conveniences the savvy traveler demands.

We made sure you stay connected and entertained by providing high speed, wireless internet access and custom cable (view on large flat screen) TV channels. The Cottage has a fenced in backyard and a quiet, comfortable and private deck where you can read, enjoy a cup of coffee, grill out and browse the internet with your lap top or tablet.

What you'll find most compelling is the location and the wealth of amenities you can access without ever getting in your car.. Walk or bike around the perimeter of the Village to bay views, two restaurants with bay front dinning, public docks, a boat ramp, bay front beach, the Longboat Key Art Center and a oak canopied road. Walk to the gulf and some of Florida's best beaches. The vistas, sunrises and sunsets will enchant you.

The beach and the bay are pristine and if you have a kayak or paddle board you're just minutes from the Sister Keys a restored and protected group of islands in Sarasota Bay.

The location is prime for serious fishermen and provides a great diversity of opportunities. The owner (a fisherman on local waters for 30 years) can provide you with local knowledge and information on top local guides. A public boat ramp is three blocks away.

I'm a local building contractor and have an avocation as an outdoor writer and photographer. I was President of the Florida Outdoor Writers Association, write a local fishing column, and am a Contributing Editor for Fly Fishing in Saltwaters Magazine. I'm currently Chairman of Sarasota Bay Watch a non-profit committed to the health of the bay. I am also a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting instructor. Fishing is a passion which I've been pursuing in local waters for 30 years. Wonderful Anniversary Week.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at "The Cottage" on beautiful Longboat Key. It was GREAT...It is your home away from home with all the comforts. Located near the white sand beach with a great restaurant only two blocks away that has the best oysters on the half shell a person has ever tried...along with THE best mussels.St.Armands Circle is only a short distance ( about 15 minute drive with traffic) that has many many unique shops and great places to eat lunch or dinner. We are planning to return soon since we are only 2 1/2 hours away..Thanks Rusty and Christine for letting us share your Cottage..
