CONVENIENT, CLEAN, NOT TYPICAL BEACH RENTAL

  • 5 of 5
Immensely enjoyed staying in Monika & Seig’s beach home in Beacon Hill, FL! Stay felt like a 2nd home rather than a beach rental. Hope that they continue to rent this home.

Location: 2 blocks walk to clean, spacious, beautiful beach on gulf side. Residential neighborhood < 1 mile from heart of Mexico beach. (Bring wagon or cart for chairs, umbrellas)

Surroundings: Immaculately clean throughout, fully loaded kitchen, washer/dryer, breakfast room off of kitchen & den is full of natural light, nice & cozy formal dining & living rooms (we did not even use), shower downstairs, full bath and 3 bedrooms upstairs

Highlights: little nooks for rest & relaxation (front, side & upstairs patios). Hubby loved the grill. Outdoor shower. Hanging out on the beach (2 blocks from house) you can hear live sing-along music on Thursday & Friday around 6pm). Dolphins & pelicans plentiful.

Young Children: loved their room, Disney Jr. (1 tv in downstairs den), raccoons visit the sliding glass door every evening for feeding (1 even knocks), carport to play on, yard to run in, loved “helping” pull the wagon to their beach, to avoid sunburn visit beach 8am-10:30am & again 6pm-sunsest, flash lights for chasing crabs, watched Disney Jr. after lunch while adults RESTED & RELAXED, Carpeted stairs are great fun for toddlers & preschoolers.

Mommy Tips: Bring gates for top & bottom of stairs if you want to relax with mobile babies. The 2 living room couches are a pretty white. To protect them from little messy hands (and faces ?) we covered with sheets.

Out & About: Restaurant < 1 mile (Toucan’s) has playground outside on beach. Kids can hang out in the beachfront windows or color during dinner. Port St. Joe (several miles by car) has a pirate playground & pavilion. Hubby & I relaxed in the adult swing under a huge oak tree overlooking the bay. Watched pelicans, hawks & people collecting seafood. St. Joseph State Park (35 minutes by car) $6 per day has gorgeous gulf beach, bay side for collecting living things, deer throughout, play ground, pavilions for picnics. Eating seafood out can be pricey for lean budgets, sandwiches plates around $10, seafood plates $20+. We purchased seafood from markets and cooked out on Seig’s grill. Lemon, butter, and a little seasoning make it delicious.

Looking forward to visiting again!

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

What a wonderful place to stay while enjoying all the Port St. Joe area has to offer. My wife and two boys had a wonderful time while staying at Moni & Seigi's vacation home. Once you meet Moni & Siegi you will feel like you have known them forever. Thier home is extremely clean and has all the amenities of your own home. It's very private and conveniently located between Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach. There is also an abundance of wild life to enjoy including raccoons, red fox and hummingbirds. My family highly recommends this home to those looking for a peaceful and tranquil vacation. We were able to truly relax and enjoy the trip. Thanks again Moni and Siegi. We hope to see you again very soon!

WONDERFUL HOME AND OWNERS

  • 4 of 5
3 adults fit very comfortably into this home. There was even enough room to entertain our friends who live 15 minutes away. The LR was almost too nice to use, very sweet and smaller. The lower front porch is an awesome place to read a book and smell fresh salty air, you are close enough to walk to the beach. However, if you are taking all your 'stuff', you will want to drive. The dining room table would be too large for most, but as stated, we had a family of 4 to entertain. The kitchen is well appointed and usable. The dryer works fine if your wife can read the knob. (Inside joke for the owners!) The breakfast area and family room are a bit smaller, but usable. Be aware, you are on vacation and there is only 1 TV in the home. There is a blue-ray player and a small collection of movies, nice touch. Also a small charcoal grill, perfect for hamburgers and even some fish, if you catch any. I even did smoked ribs for our friends on it.

Be aware that you are NOT in the city. (And we didn't want to be, this is our 5th trip to the area.) There are racoons and bears who might visit you during the night and groceries will have to be planned. Local eateries are fine, just use Yelp to guide your dining out, we found some great places between Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe. Killer Seafood is an accurate name, and that's a good thing! Sunset Grill is good, just more expensive. Joe Mama's is great, but still untested by us. We're not the bar type but Toucan's is close by. Having said that, hamburgers on the grill relax your pace.

There is no master bath, the upstairs bath is shared by all. But there is a small shower/bath on the first floor and this is what our adult daughter used. She was happy to have a bathroom mostly to herself.

And the owners, how can I say enough about them. This is a personal home of theirs and not a rental afterthought. They are a wonderful couple and I hope all renters treat them right so they continue to rent their home so we are able to stay there on a repeat basis. They are always a phone call away, but will not keep showing up at the door checking up on you.

That's about all, now book!

WONDERFUL STAY!

  • 5 of 5
As soon as we arrived the homeowners Moni and Siegi greeted us and were so kind and welcoming. They left chocolates and a wonderful surprise for my husband - his favorite bier from Germany! They gave us a wonderful tour of the home to show us where everything was (the house is very well stocked with anything you could need including two bikes, cooler, iron and board, hair dryer, beach chairs, umbrella, any type of utensil or cookware you might need and more than enough clean linens and towels. Plus washer and dryer which we used a few times.)
As everyone else has stated - the house is completely immaculate and even smells clean just walking in which makes you feel comfortable right away. We enjoyed having only a short walk to the beach and some of the local restaurants nearby. Killer Seafood is a bit pricey, but great food. One night we walked by the "Gourmet on the Bay" food truck (which was parked right behind the Lookout Lounge) and had some freshly made Benets, which were delicious! Should you feel like wandering a bit - head to Cape San Blas area and check out The Indian Pass Raw Bar. They have oysters, shrimp and crab legs - live music in the evenings and a "self serve" cooler stocked with a good selection of beers and soft drinks.

We had a great time here, and would definitely stay again.

Thanks to Monika and Siegfreid for their warm hospitality :)

Best Regards,
Clint, Mara and Elijah

VERY PEACEFUL VACATION HOME.

  • 4 of 5
This house is immaculate and very peaceful and tranquil. The walk to the beach was not bad, but easier to drive if you are taking chairs and coolers. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. I would definately recommend this vacation home to anyone.
