In-Town, closest to everything in the Nation's Capital. Walk to shopping and the Red line Metro system
Very low cost to rent a week in the City of Washington, DC for a four bedroom, two and a half bath house. This house has all amenities including wifi internet, computer terminal and big screen HDTV
The property checks out as described: clean, spacious, and near the city center. It has the amenities necessary for a family stay over and some more, like computer, wifi, printer and so on. We only found one chair to be broken. Everything else was functional.
Getting into the parking requires special instructions. A map on property's website would be helpful.
Nice large home, walking distance to metro and grocery. Very clean and very spacious! Full kitchen, washer and dryer. Neighborhood not the greatest looking but it was very safe!
We stayed three nights at this home. The house looks exactly as pictured. We were very pleased with having off street parking, and also, having a washer and dryer. The tenants that live down stairs were friendly and very helpful with where we could find restaurants and the metro. The metro is very close and an easy walk. We were able to have dinner delivered on our first evening.
The home could use more towels anything over four people this could be an issue. We had to wash towels in order to have enough for our last evening. Communication with the person you contact once there could use improvement. If this person is not available there should be an information packet left with information on codes and location of metro and restaurants. Furniture could use some updating and fixing. Mattress in master bedroom could be replaced and headboards put in the beds. The home was clean but floors could be mopped.
This is an upcoming neighborhood but neighbors were friendly and always spoke. The hospital and fire station is located very close. There was always police presence driving the street.
Our group of 10 stayed here for one week over the 4th of July. The house was wonderful and we were very pleased.
Each of the rooms was as described. the kitchen is just what you need. We had 2 children with us and ate in a couple of nights and did breakfast at the house. The large living/dining room is very large and the kids were thrilled with the TV's in each room.
There are four bedrooms. two with king-sized beds and two with double. One of the double has an en-suite bathroom. We did use the roll-away bed but kept it downstairs in front of the front door since you use the back door for entry and exit and not the front door. I did put a single air mattress on the roll-away which made it much more comfortable. I brought my air mattress.
This is very close to the Metro even for my mother who has a hard time walking long distances. However she is activie and gets around. Remember you are in DC where there is a lot of walking. The grocery store and CVS are very convient and a great way to get items to eat at home.
We drove some in DC during non-crowded hours and also used the metro.
The owners and property manager were very kind to me and when leaving a set of eye glasses behind have agreed to mail them to me.
I would certainly recommend this house. It is great.
Our group of nine stayed here for four nights over Memorial Day. We were very pleased with the house.
You enter through the back door into a well-appointed kitchen, with a full sized dishwasher and side-by-side fridge. From here you go into the large living/dining room, with enough seating for any large groups. There is a fireplace, computer and half-bath on this level.
Upstairs are four bedrooms. The first, to the left of the landing, has a king-sized bed. The next bedroom has a double, but also an en-suite and enough space for the roll-away bed kept in the downstairs bathroom. The third bedroom has another king, and the front bedroom has a double, but is a good size. There is a second bathroom with shower on this level for the three non-ensuite rooms.
The description regarding location in spot-on. The grocery store is a proper one, and a CVS is on the corner on the way to the Metro station. There are also two full-service banks located next to the property.
Rhode Island Station is only two stops on the red line from Union Stations, and you can be downtown in less than 15 minutes from leaving the house.
The owners and property manager were very kind to us, and the only minor problem we had was dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction.
I can heartily recommend this house to any family or group looking for a self-catering property in a good location and at a fair price.
My family -- my husband, two children, and mother -- recently stayed in this house while vacationing in DC. The house is lovely, with lots of updates and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kid really liked having room for alone time each evening, with flat-screen TVs in every room.
The neighborhood is blue collar for sure, but we never felt in the least unsafe. There is a very nice supermarket just a block or two away, and the Rhode Island Metro stop is just a few blocks further. and the neighborhood is on the upswing, with a new block of shops set to open in the next 6 months.
A few things did need some attention. The house is due for new bath linens. The towels were tired, and there weren't many of them. Also, the mattress in the bedroom linked to the private bath was worn out and really needs replacing. Other than that, the house was in great shape!
