About Mountain Getaway

We are a family that loves to be in the mountains every chance we get. Our family has owned Mountain Hideaway since 1992 and just recently decided to share our Hideaway with others and let them feel the relaxation and joy we do every time we are here.

Mountain Getaway purchased this cabin in 1992

Why Mountain Getaway chose Oakhurst

We Love Bass Lake and this is just moments which makes our Mountain Hideaway perfect. We are also just minutes to Yosemite South Gate.

What makes this cabin unique

We love to sit in the back yard and listen to the Nelder Creek run year round. The boysenberries that grow wild in the front yard make a perfect topping on your morning waffles or in the evening on your vanilla ice cream. And don't forget to just eat them right off the bush because they are sooooo sweet. The natural wildlife is so amazing to listen too and watch from afar. Your love the peacefulness and tranquility of being in the mountains.

water problems

  • 1 of 5

The place is nice enough, but there is a problem with the water. It has rust in it. Tastes and smells really bad. We wouldn't even shower with it. We tried boiling it, and it resulted in a pot of rusty water.

Fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Yosemite and this cabin was very good. Everything was very clean and there's a lot of space. We went 8 people and it was perfectly ok. Even it is not very close from Yosemite Valley (more than 1 hour) it is near the 41 HW which means than you pass Tunnel View and you're close to Glacier Point entrance.

Nice stay, very good place.

Girls Weekend

  • 4 of 5

I decided to have a girl's weekend for my birthday this year. We had a great time. There was plenty of room for our group. The furniture was comfy. The house was clean. It was a fairly close distance to Ducey's, etc. I would definetely rent this place again in the future.
