Direct Ocean Front Carrizalillo Home

The array of vacation rentals available in Puerto Escondido can be somewhat off putting. For us, a family of four, price was a definite consideration. When I saw this home with its' beachfront description and sparkling pool I thought it sounded a little too good to be true for the price. There were other listings with the same type of description for two and three times the rental rate. I sent an email and heard back promptly from Chris, the owner and all around nice guy. After chatting with him on the phone, I decided to take the chance and reserve for a week. As it turned out, the home is in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Puerto Escondido. We were met by Clay who takes care of the home and he gave us a quick orientation. The place was even better than described or the photos would indicate. The home is very well laid out for comfortable living. The air-conditioned bedrooms set slightly away from the pool area so a siesta is possible while others are splashing around in the pool. The living , dining and kitchen area overlook the pool then the meticulously manicure backyard and then the fabulous Playa Carrizalillo. The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy your stay including a French press coffee pot which was fun. We all loved the pool, but I found that nothing could beat sipping a Margarita on the forward terrace which sits right on the rim of Carrizalillo Bay. Most nights we walked to the "Restaurant Row" a few blocks away for dinner and always had a good time. . The home was just perfect for us. It seemed exactly what a beach home should be, relaxed and inviting. Lots of home owners profess that the most important thing to them is that their home be enjoyed by guests and then they skewer those guests for $2000.00 a week. My theory is that Chris keeps his rate lower than it could be because he really means it. When I head back to Puerto, I will definitely be staying at Chris’ place.
