Beautiful house, cosy and warm, and in a great location. Margret was very accommodating and responded very quickly to our last minute request. We will be returning to Iceland and when we do we'll be staying here again!
Really cosy and well equipped home. It is much bigger than the impression given by the photos and feels very light - the views from the lounge are lovely. The hot tub was great and there was even a massage chair. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The property was easy to find with clear instruction from the owner and just a few miles from a dual carriageway leading to Reykjavik. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
This is a lovely house with more than enough room for our family of 8 ranging in age from 14 to 75 years old. Magret met us at the house with a full breakfast and snacks. She was very kind and helpful in helping us plan our time in Iceland. This house is located perfectly between the airport and Reykavik as well a 15 minutes from the blue lagoon. Stop looking anywhere else. This is the perfect place to stay!!
If you are looking for a house in secluded location in close proximity to Reykjavik (about a 30 minute drive) this should be your first choice. Absolutely no need to waste your time by looking any further!
The house is beautifully located in the lagoon between Keflavik airport and Reykjavik. From the comfort of the living room, you can watch seals, swans, minks and so on roaming the wilderness. If you are lucky, like we were, you can watch the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) from the privacy of your own jacuzzi while sipping wine (good for 7 people). Some of the tour agencies bring buses full of tourists to this area in the hope of see Aurora. And here we are: just stepping outside of the house and screaming from the top of our lungs from the excitement of seeing such an intense classic Aurora Borealis! That was one of our main highlights of our trip to Iceland.
The Blue Lagoon is only a 15 minute drive from the house.
We got the best possible deal renting the house with a car. Our hosts were extremely nice to us. Not only did they let us stay in their house but they also met us at the airport and drove us back there on the last day of our trip. They left us a refrigerator full of food to use. They provided us with a handful of information for traveling around. There were 7 of us from different countries and we left behind some stuff. The owners were very nice and mailed it to us.
Just rent this house! It is big, clean and comfortable! Enjoy your trip to Iceland!
The house is privately located and only a short drive away from Keflavík, the Blue Lagoon, Hafnarfjordur Viking Village as well as Reykjavik. It is located by the sea with ocean views over to Snaefellsjokull which featured in Jules Verne’s A Journey to the Center of the Earth and is famous for its mystical allure. The house itself is modern but tastefully decorated with period features like an amazing old stove that almost makes you feel as if you are on the set of Downtown Abbey. It is comfortable, clean and warm and the owners are extremely helpful and nice. I could absolutely see myself living here,it is so peaceful and so surrounded by nature.
We had a fantastic stay in this lovely, well equipped house which has stunning views all around it. The house was clean, comfortable and warm. The owners were welcoming, kind and friendly and old not have been more helpful- they looked after us o well and made us very welcome. our children particularly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the stars.
The cottage is situated in a very beautiful and peaceful place.you definitely need to have a car to get about.
We spent an enjoyable father noon at the Blue Lagoon - which is about twenty minutes drive from the house. We had bought tickets on the Internet and were able to bypass the long queue.
We went into Reykjavik a couple of times and enjoyed looking around.
We would definitely recommend the house to friends and family.
